This house has been on my mind ever since I discovered it while taking a drive through Alpine, NJ. I was looking through past publications of Architectural Digest online and I came across this house. I was ecstatic when I found it. The French inspired mansion was designed by famed architect Boris Baranovich. The interior designer of the home is Penny Drue Baird. The home is owned by Steven and Candice Stark, who moved from an apartment in New York City to this fabulous 2-acre estate. Steven is the owner of Stark Carpet, which offers carpets, rugs, furniture, and textiles to design professionals for both commercial and residential use. Stark Carpet had sales of $150 million back in 2007. The 24-room, 20,000 square foot house includes a magnificent foyer with beautiful wrought iron balconies, Wi-Fi technology, 25 zones of climate control, a grand dining room that can seat 30 people, a gym, large custom dressing rooms for him and her, a library, an indoor basketball court, an indoor pool, multiple family rooms, a home theater with 700 movies programmed in, a tennis court, and an outdoor swimming pool.
