This newly built 13,542 square foot mansion is on the market for a whopping $23,500,000, making it the most expensive home currently on the market in the Newport Coast area. Located at 40 Deep Sea, this Mediterranean style home was designed by David Pierce Hohmann and boasts 6 bedrooms and 11.5 bathrooms. It was sold on January 31st, 2010 for $14,900,000 and has just recently come back on the market. The interior is decent, but I would expect a lot more in a home if I’m paying $23,500,000. If does have nice views, but it is not oceanfront or anything. Also, I wonder why it has jumped back on the market so quickly? What do you guys think?

HERE ARE THE LISTING DETAILS:

This magnificent estate features unimpeded ocean and Catalina views with virtually no rooftops. Lift and slide pocket doors grace many rooms giving an indoor/outdoor feel to the entire home. Infinity edge pool visually drops straight into the Pacific. Lower level has garaging for a minimum of 8 cars, dedicated formal theater, wine display, storage and tasting areas as well as game room overlooking lowest level racquetball court and gym. Main floor has an unmatched open feel with covered loggias of great room, family room, breakfast area and kitchen. Top floor has 3 suites on view including master suite with 2 sets of pocket doors, true his and hers baths and closets,2 balconies and 2 fireplaces. Separate guest casita and office of indoor courtyard. This is a must see with too many amenities to list.

* Sorry about the pictures, they are small, which is disappointing.

This is the former mansion of Indian mortgage broker and entertainment mogul Vijay K. Taneja. The home is located on Summit Drive in Fairfax, VA. It contains 25,000 square feet of living space and includes an indoor swimming pool, an indoor racquetball court, a gold-leaf prayer room, a home theater, and a tennis court. Vijay built the home in 2005. While living in the house, he was also executing an elaborate mortgage fraud scheme — defrauding four U.S. banks of millions — while continuing his global investments. Investigators are still trying to untangle the financial web. He pleaded guilty November 2008 to bilking banks of at least $33 million and victimizing associates from the Indian community with phony home loans. The mansion was auctioned off and the highest bid went to Egyptian businessman Ali Hafez who paid $3.875, which I think is practically a steal. The bidding started at $2.8 million.

NOW……Take a look at this mansion, which I just did a post on yesterday, and tell me if you see anything.

YES, THEY ARE ALMOST EXACTLY THE SAME.

This house has only 21,500 square feet, but you can see that every detail, from the columns, to the two symmetrical wings, that they are the same. I wonder which company built them. Probably Niroo Mansions.

This mansion is located at 8920 Players Club Drive in Las Vegas, NV and is listed for $12,800,000. It sits on nearly one acre golf front lot and contains 23,360 square feet of living space and has close to 31,000 square feet under roof. This home is another case of the “square footage doesn’t match up with aerial view of house”. The home looks to be like 14,000 square feet, not 31,000!!! It has 11 bedrooms all with their own full baths and walk-in closets and a total of 16 bathrooms. The master suite alone is nearly 2,600 square feet! This grand residence sports an indoor racquetball/basketball, volleyball court, 15 seat home theatre, his/hers offices, spectacular great room with 27’ ceilings, an arts and crafts room, formal living room,  a huge dining room that seats 18, a climate controlled RV garage (2,730 square feet), a lovely gourmet kitchen with huge eating area, an enormous bonus/game room with additional full kitchen, a swimming pool with caves, waterfall, slides, and an outdoor kitchen.
