The Stone Mansion Has Been Re-Listed
Posted by Kenny Forder on August 25th, 2012  |  15 Comments »

The 30,000 square foot Stone Mansion estate located at 1 Frick Drive in Alpine, NJ has been re-listed. It was taken off the market a month or so ago after there were a few interested buyers as well as a rumored $32 million offer that got turned down. The massive home is now back on the market at the same asking price as before, $56,000,000. It also changed brokers and is now listed with Preferred Residential & Commercial Realty.

$32 Million Offer On The Stone Mansion In Alpine, NJ Rejected
Posted by Kenny Forder on August 21st, 2012  |  26 Comments »

According to a close source, a $32,000,000 offer made on the 30,000 square foot Stone Mansion estate in Alpine, NJ was rejected. We do not know if there was a counteroffer or not.

The lavish estate features a whopping 12 bedrooms and 19 bathrooms. Here’s a fun tidbit….when we toured the home, we spoke to the owner’s son and he said that a couple families from overseas said the home wasn’t big enough and that there weren’t enough bedrooms. HA!!!! Can you imagine?!

The home was first put on the market in 2010 for $68 million and then was lowered to $52 million. It then shot back up to $56 million (don’t know why they did that) and was at that price not too long ago. The estate then disappeared off the listing sites and was said to have a few people VERY interested in it. However, we do not know what has happened since. We will keep you guys updated once we get more info!

This newly listed Colonial style mansion is located at 4 Stone Tower Drive in Alpine, NJ in the ritzy Rio Vista section. Situated on 4 gated, landscaped acres, the home was designed by architect James Paragano (he also designed the Stone Mansion) and built in 2000. It features approximately 22,782 square feet of living space with 7 bedrooms, 12 bathrooms, 7 main reception rooms, elevator, gourmet kitchen, 2 breakfast room, 12-seat home theater, 2-lane bowling alley, game room, 7-car garage and more. The grounds features a 4-room guest house with 2-car garage accessed by service driveway, a swimming pool with spa, pool house, putting green and a tennis court. It was last on the market for $25,000,000 back in July of 2008. It is now listed at $18,500,000. I think this is a really great deal. It’s a large, beautiful home on a DOUBLE Lot, which is rare.

Thanks to HOTR reader Doug for this tip! A new mega mansion has gone up in the affluent town of Colts Neck, NJ which is already home to dozens of mega mansions, including a couple that are over 30,000 square feet. It is located on Montrose Road.

From Doug -

The home is about 20,000 square feet and sits on about 25 acres of prime real estate. The style of the home is French inspired and is built with the highest quality materials possible. The exterior walls are composed of stone, which was custom cut on site, and antique style brick trim. I don’t know about you but I find that 99% of the time when people try to combine stone and brick on the exterior of a home it just doesn’t look that great at all. But in this case I think they hit it right on the dot. Also the same combination of stone with brick trim is used all over the property in the entrance gates, retaining walls, an equipment shed and the staff residence (which I was not able to get a picture of). But even more spectacular is the grounds. Don’t really judge the grounds on these pictures because they’re still not entirely complete. What is so amazing about what they’ve done with the grounds is what they were before. This property was previously a horse farm and massive outdoor riding ring. The property was entirely flat and bland, and had little in the way of trees. This landscaping was done in what seemed like two days, but probably took more like a week. They built that entire lake from scratch, and it isn’t shown in these pictures but the lake has some nice water features including a bubbling brook that feeds it (which was also built by scratch). All of those ugly awkward looking poles do have a purpose I promise lol. They are going to become some sort of gazebo/ pavilion, and I believe will have some sorts of ivy or other flowering type plant that is usually used on arbors and stuff growing on it.
