This gated mega estate is located on N Michigan Road in Indianapolis, Indiana and is owned by Christel Dehaan. Christel married Jon DeHaan, founder of Resort Condominiums International. They divorced in 1987 and the court awarded her half of  the company. She bought the remainder from her ex-husband 2 years later for $67.5 million; expanded it, sold to HFS (now Cendant) in 1996 for $825 million. She was worth an estimated $750 million back in 2003. She started the Christel House charity and plans to donate the estate to them when she dies. The estate boasts a long driveway, 25,000+ square foot main house, swimming pool, tennis court, detached garage, power plant and a massive man-made lake.

Stephen Hilbert’s Carmel, Indiana mansion, dubbed Le Chateau Renaissance, sold this past week for just $3 million at auction. The winning bidder was Forrest Lucas, the founder of Lucas Oil Products Inc. He bought it from CNO Financial Group Inc who seized the estate from its former chief executive, Stephen Hilbert, five years ago. Forrest paid in cash and got quite the steal for the 25,000 square foot estate, considering it’s original asking price of $20 million. Before the auction took place, the home was on the market for $9.9 million. WOW!! What an amazing deal! The house does need some updating, but you can’t complain with $120 a square foot and the huge list of amenities you’re getting with that!!

Le Chateau Renaissance, the former mega-mansion of disgraced former Conseco CEO Stephen Hilbert, is on the auction block. Conseco foreclosed on the home in 2004 after firing him and sold the furnishings at auction for $750,000 in 2005. They then listed the home for $25,000,000 and then dropped it to $20,000,000. Then, about a year ago, it went back on the market for only $9,900,000. The 36-room, 25,000 square foot mega-mansion is located at 1143 West 116th Street in Carmel, IN and is situated on over 33 acres of land. The estate also boasts a swimming pool with 3,500 square foot pool house, a 15,000 square foot “sports arena” with a regulation sized basketball court and racquetball court, gardens, guest cottage, and a 15+ car garage.

Potential buyers have to put up $100,000 to place a bid and the winner has to close within 14 days (all cash). I wonder how much it will go for?! Anything below $9 million is an incredible deal for such an incredible estate.

Hi all, Alan here again. One area of mansions I really like is the Carmel and Zionsville, Indiana area. There is a lot of money in the area, and hence, many mansions. Here are some of my favorites:

Pictures 1 – 5:
This home I know nothing about, but all I can tell you is that it is to the east of West Rd, near W 138th St. The home has its own pond and bridge. It has 3 stories in part of the home, with a backyard pool. I like how the home is away from the main road. Lots of privacy.

Pictures 6 – 12:
This home I maybe like the best. It has its own lake, golf greens, huge backyard pool and patio area, and what appears to be 2 guest houses. According to Realtor.com some particulars are:
17,278 sq ft, 9 bedrooms, and 8.5 bathrooms. The address is: 12351 West Rd Zionsville IN 46077. If you Google Earth it, for some reason, they have the address as the house next door. That is of course, incorrect.

Pictures 13 – 16:
This home is tucked away back from the road, so it has its privacy, and also has a medium sized lake next to it. According to Realtor.com some particulars are: 18,080 sq ft, 4 bedrooms, and 9.5 bathrooms. The address is: 1523 W 131st St Carmel IN 46032.

Pictures #3,4 – This massive house is located at 2490 Manzanita Lane in Reno, NV. It includes a large attached garage, beautiful enclosed driveway, parking for dozens of cars, a large terrace, a swimming pool, and a gated entrance. The home has 4 bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, and 26,741 square feet of living space.

Picture #5 - This impressive Mediterranean style mansion is located on Highland Road in Highland Road Park, LA. It includes multiple buildings that are connected by breezeways, a man made pond, and a swimming pool. It is also gated and has its own security building.

Pictures #7,8 – This amazing architectural masterpiece is located on El Camino Real in Rancho Santa Fe, CA. It includes a tennis court, an awesome infinity edged swimming pool, numerous paths, formal gardens, and a man made pond. It has 26,433 square feet of living space.

This is the home of Tim Durham. It is located on E 113th Street in Indianapolis, Indiana.Tim Durham is a 45 year old financier from Indiana and heads up Obsidian Enterprises. Durham made his millions from leveraged buyouts and turn-arounds. His net worth is over $75 million. This mega-mansion is over 30,000 square feet and contains a massive attached garage that can fit up to 70 of Tim’s luxurious cars.

This is Scott Jones’ two-story 20-seat High-Tech home theater. It contains a 16 by 9 foot screen. The estimated cost for this is an astounding $650,000.

This is the home of Scott A. Jones. The 53-acre estate is located on W 116th Street in Carmel, Indiana. The 27,000 square foot mega-mansion is a High-Tech paradise.
