Tusmore Park is located in Oxfordshire, England and was established as far back as 1385. The original house was replaced by a very grand classical building in the late 1770s. This was replaced in 1964 by a smaller, less grand construction. However, in the late 1990s the estate was bought by wealthy businessman Wafic Said, benefactor of the Oxford Said Business School. He held a design competition for another replacement of the house at Tusmore, and this was constructed in 2000, once again in the classical style and grandeur at a reputed cost of some £30 million. The new Tunsmore Park, designed by Sir William Whitfield, was a fitting replacement and almost of equal size to the previous Tusmore. The portico provides a dramatic entrance and is dominated by six monumental Ionic columns. In recognition of the quality of the new house Tusmore Park was awarded the prize for the “best modern house in the classical tradition” at the 2004 awards of the Georgian Group.

We all know that Roman Abramovich is known for his conspicuous consumption and this is no exception. You might think his purchases are insane, however, he can afford these insanely extravagant and expensive things. After all, he is currently the fourth richest person in Russia and the 50th richest person in the world, with an estimated fortune of $11.2 billion. Roman’s new 30,000 square foot mega mansion is located in London and is worth around $230,000,000.

Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich has purchased all nine flats of a prime London block with Harvey Nichols and Harrods as their corner shops.

Spread across two stucco-fronted properties in Knightsbridge in London, the eight-bedroom building is expected to be worth up to £150million.

‘It looks as though it will be palatial,’ said a source familiar with the plans. ‘He wants a very plush interior in the style of high neoclassical Victoriana to match the exterior.

‘This is clearly a personal project, because men like him would normally hand such a massive undertaking to some upmarket interior design firm.

‘He’s going to be very hands-on and there will be nothing minimalist about his taste. Inside will be all cornices, thick pile carpeting and heavy drapery.’

The proposals, approved by Kensington and Chelsea council, should also prove more than adequate for Mr Abramovich, if his older five children do occasionally visit.

The  development, over five storeys above ground and three basement levels, boasts a cinema/entertainment room, an indoor pool, steam room and sauna, as well as a children’s study and entertainment room.

All six family bedrooms have en suite bathrooms, as do the two guest rooms. In a linked mews development behind the main building, four flats above a multicar garage will be used as staff accommodation.

The total size is 30,000 sq feet, five times the area of a normal five-bedroomed family home.

The home is currently two adjoining townhouses, which were split into nine apartments in 1998.

Mr Abramovich has been buying up the individual flats over the years to convert the building into the single home, but did not change the exterior.

This is Cornwall Terrace , which is located in Regent’s Park in London, England. It consists of eight double-fronted mansions each with an asking price of between £29m and £60m. The whole row of homes is up for sale for a mind blowing collective £400 million ($627,120,000)!!!!!

But despite the sky high price and having to pay up to £2.5m in stamp duty – Cornwall Terrace is in the City of Westminster – where residents pay the capital’s second lowest council tax bill.

The terrace was designed by Royal architect Sir John Nash as part of the Prince Regent’s – later King George IV – plans for the 19th century masterpiece Regent’s Park.

Overlooking the park’s rowing lake, Cornwall Terrace’s double-fronted mansions belonged to the British nobility for 150 years before being occupied by commercial concerns.

Developers Oakmayne purchased the terrace two-and-a-half years ago and employed a group of renowned interior designers, supervised by English Heritage and The Crown Estate, to give the properties a tasteful makeover.

Each home took 83,000 man-hours to create with one whole year alone spent hand-digging two-metres beneath the original basement to create two extra floors.

The first two properties have come onto the market with a price-tag of £29m and £39m respectively.

But the remaining six properties will be marketed next year with one unidentified mansion expected to cost a staggering £60m.

Prospective clients have even enquired about the possibility of purchasing two properties and turning them into a deluxe single £100m dwelling.

Ranging from 8,000 to 14,000 square feet, the Grade I-listed mansions have between five and seven bedrooms and combine London’s rich architectural heritage with state-of-the-art technology.

The main entrance room of each property is described as being of ”embassy proportions” while each master bedroom is ”the size of your average apartment”.

All properties have oiled and polished hardwood floors and doors, handcrafted Italian marble floors alongside period fireplaces, cornices and other decorative detailing.

They also boast a silent hydraulic elevator and multi-room iPad-controllable audiovisual and lighting systems.

Each property is offered with an accompanying two-bedroom mews for staff and a ”Bentley-sized garage” while each mansion benefits from a spa and gym.

The largest property – to be sold next year – also boasts a ball room and swimming pool complex.

This 16,700 square foot mansion is located in Bowdon, an affluent village in Greater Manchester, England. The home, which is situated on a little over 2 acres, boasts a reception hall with spiral stone staircase, cloakroom, drawing room, dining atrium, lounge, modern gourmet kitchen, family lounge, circular library, utility kitchen, rear entrance hall, garden room, master bedroom suite, 5 further first floor bedroom suites, second floor bedroom suite, home theater, wine cellar, plant room, heated indoor swimming pool with spa, gym, 4-car garage, and a staff/guest annex with lounge, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. A penthouse at London’s prestigious One Hyde Park development has sold for a record breaking £140 million or $220 million. It was originally valued at £100 million. The buyer’s identity remains a secret. The six-bedrooom apartment, which has been on the market for quite some time, stretches across two floors and boasts bullet-proof windows, a panic room and views across the Serpentine. The sale price makes it the most expensive property in Britain, surpassing the £115 million ($180 million) paid for a flat at the exclusive 8 St James’s Square development in Westminster in 2008. The One Hyde Park development boasts 86 properties starting at around £20 million ($31.3 million), and is the brainchild of luxury property developers Christian and Nick Candy. I could never imagine spending that much money on a penthouse, let alone a detached home.
