Professional basketball player Carmelo Anthony, who plays for the Denver Nuggets, has listed his Colorado mansion for $9,500,000.  The home is located at 6965 S Polo Ridge Drive in Littleton, CO. Carmelo bought the 25,610 square foot mega-mansion, named The Sognare Estate, back in April of 2007 for $12,000,000. The home was built in 2002 by Stephen Jacobsen, the former Executive Vice President of Qwest. Stephen was given Carmelo’s old home in Lakewood as part of a deal when he bought the home. The estate, which sits on nearly 6 acres of land, boasts a 21,000 square foot main house with 8 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms, a grand foyer with marble columns, a 5,000 bottle wine cellar, a mahogany paneled library, a recording studio, 8 fireplaces, home theater, and a gym. There is also a swimming pool with large pool house, an 11,000 square foot barn, guest house, and a 7-car garage. Carmelo recently gave MTV Cribs an exclusive tour of the home. I wonder why he’s selling the home?

Musician Bob Seger is in the process of building a 30,000 square foot mega-mansion on Laplaya Lane in West Bloomfield, MI. The home is being built by Thomas Sebold and Associates and is being designed by Dominick Tringali Architects.

Danielle Staub, from the Real Housewives of New Jersey, has re-listed her house. The home, which is located on 8 Shadow Ridge Run in Wayne, NJ, is on the market for $1,095,000. It was previously on the market in September of last year for $1,495,000, which means it had a $400,000 price reduction. This news comes days after fellow housewife Teresa Giudice’s 10,000 square foot mansion went on the market for $3,999,999 and then disappeared the next day.

Danielle and her ex-husband bought the home back in 1998 for $1,025,000. The 6,208 square foot home boasts 7 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms, 2 story Grand entry foyer with double staircase, great room with fireplace, custom mahogany billiard room with wet bar, gym, and a beautiful pool with cabana. I don’t like this place, in fact, I think it’s rather dull and even ugly, but it’s not everyday that you can live where Michael Jackson did. This estate was the last Las Vegas residence of Michael Jackson before he moved back to California. The home is on the market for an asking price of $12,800,000. That actually doesn’t seem that bad for the nostalgia of it being Jackson’s former home, but seems high priced otherwise considering how bland and dull this place is. Supermodel Gisele Bunchen and her husband Tom Brady, player for the New England Patriots, are building a mega-mansion in the exclusive Brentwood section of Los Angeles, CA (right next to Arnold Schwarzenegger’s house). The couple bought the 3.75 acre property for a reported $11 million. It is going to cost an estimated $20 million more to construct the home. Not like that will hurt their pockets. Gisele alone is worth an estimated $150 million and is the highest paid supermodel in the world! The 22,000 square foot house boasts 8 bedrooms, a covered bridge, six-car garage, and a lagoon-shaped swimming pool. It is being built by Boston-based Suffolk Construction, whose CEO John Fish is a good friend of Brady’s. While celebrities building mega-mansions is not something new, Gisele is taking some heat over it because of the home’s environmental friendliness. If you don’t know already, Gisele was recently designated the Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP). How ironic, right?! Do you think it’s a good idea for them to be building such a huge house?

You remember him? Jayson Williams, a former NBA player who used to play for the Nets, pled guilty to assault in the shooting death of a limousine driver at his then mansion. The home, which is located at 143 Woolf Rod in Milford, NJ, was sold by Williams in November of 2005 for $8 million. The home then went under an extensive renovation in 2006 by it’s current owner and has hit the market for $12,500,000 for 296 acres, $10,500,000 for 173 acres, or $7,900,000 for 57 acres. Superstar songstress Celine Dion has finished construction on her very own backyard “water park”. If you don’t know already, Celine’s management company, Renlec Management, paid $12.5 million back in June of 2005 for the property in the 200 block of South Beach Road on Jupiter Island in Florida. It already boasted a 2-story home that was demolished to make way for Celine’s new 3.7 acre compound. The main residence boasts 9,825 square feet of living space and has six bedrooms, eight full bathrooms, an elevator and a basement for laundry and staff living quarters. On the first floor, the octagon includes a living room facing the ocean and separates north and south wings containing bedrooms and a sound-proof TV room. On the second floor, an elevator and staircase lead into a playroom and children’s rooms on the west side and an octagonal-shaped adjacent master suite on the east side. The master suite includes an outdoor spa, wide balconies and three fireplaces, and a 460-square-foot master closet.

The entrance for the estate is on an adjacent 2-acre lot to the north that Renlec purchased in January of 2008 for $7 million. The property also features an 8 bedroom, 2,621-square-foot guesthouse, tennis court, and an underground garage. However the most impressive feature definitely has to be the mini “water park” in the front yard. It boasts two swimming pool (one for guests), a lazy river, a pavilion, and a tower that holds an enclosed water slide. All in all, Celine’s compound, which took nearly 5 years to complete, boasts a total of 17,868 square feet, 15 bedrooms, and 14 full and 6 half baths.

*It was reported in 2008 that Celine’s estate guzzles about 6.5 million gallons of water each year and it costs her nearly $10,000 a month for her water bill!! Hi everyone, Alan again.  In order to celebrate what would’ve been Elvis Presley’s 75th birthday (January 8), I’m going to show you his amazing home “Graceland” in Memphis, Tennessee.  When Elvis bought the home it was a modest 10, 266 square feet.  Today, the home is 17,552 square feet, with all of the renovations done to it.  Elvis bought the home in 1957 for $100,000.  That seems like a pretty good deal I think.  The home is located at 3734 Elvis Presley Boulevard, Memphis, Tennessee.

Hello everyone, it’s me Alan again, guest blogging.  I wanted to also share another one of my all-time favorite mega-mansions ever built in the USA.  The house is home to NBA superstar Shaquille O’Neal.  He showed this home off on MTV Cribs.  On the episode, MTV said that the home is a massive 64,000 square feet, but most other public records state that the home is only 28,937 square feet, which is still huge!  I think the size is somewhere in between.

One of the cool things inside the home is an indoor basketball court.  The outdoor pool is nicknamed “Shaq-apulco”.  One note of interest is that Michael Jackson tried to purchase the home from O’Neal, but O’Neal said “no thanks.”  The address of the home is:  9927 Giffin Court, Windermere, Florida

This is the newly built mega-home of NBA superstar LeBron James. The pictures don’t show the home finished yet. The address is 4157 Idlebrook Drive, Akron, Ohio. He bought the property and tore down the home that had been there. He started building his dream home, and it was just recently finished. According to articles online, his home is 35,440 square feet, but public records list the home at 30,106. Either way, that is one of the largest ever built in Ohio.
