This lavish mega mansion, dubbed Taj-on-Swan, has been under construction for the past 2 years and is still not finished. It is being built by well-known entrepreneur, Pankaj Oswal,and may possibly be up for sale after financial difficulties put Oswal’s fertilizer company in receivership. It is located in the exclusive Peppermint Grove neighborhood of Perth, Australia and will include a temple, huge gym, an observatory with a revolving roof and parking for 17 cars. The Oswals’ bought the land for $22.7 million. Once you include construction costs, the total cost rises to a staggering $70 million. If they do happen to sell it, they will most likely lose money as they will probably only get around $35 million for it according to a local expert.

Philadelphia attorney and entrepreneur Vahan Gureghian and his attorney wife, Danielle, are planning to build a 20,000 square foot mansion at 1071 N. Ocean Boulevard in Palm Beach, FL. The plans were submitted late last year to the town for review. If built, the house will stand on two lots, with a total of nearly 240 feet of oceanfront, which they acquired last year for $28.9 million (the year’s second-largest Palm Beach residential purchase by a single buyer). The most amazing part? The Gureghian’s main house is even BIGGER than this! They live in a 30,000 square foot mega mansion in Gladwyne, PA. Pennsylvania-based architect Frederick L. Bissinger Jr. designed the Palm Beach house as well as their Pennsylvania house. Smith and Moore Architects of West Palm Beach are also involved in the project, and Lang Design Group of West Palm did the landscape plan.

The Bernsteins are the founders of Melissa & Doug, LLC, a toy company based in Wilton, CT. They founded the company in 1988 in their basement. Today, the company is the leading educational toy manufacturing company in the world.

They bought the property in July of 2007 for $5 million and tore down the existing house. The current home, which was built in 2008, is situated on 7.53 acres and has a current appraised value of $19,753,300, down from $23,220,100 in 2010. The home has a total of 12 bedrooms and 15 full bathrooms and 5 half bathrooms. There are a total of 45 rooms in the home. The home has 8 fireplaces. According to Blockshopper, the home measures in at 29,513 square feet, making it one of the largest homes in the state of Connecticut. The Bernsteins are also one of the 15 highest property taxpayers in the state. They paid a whopping $156,419.52 in 2010.

According to Virtual Globetrotting, the first floor alone measures in at 17,127 square feet and the total gross area of the home is 65,524 square feet. Additionally, there are two other small buildings on the property containing additional guest bedrooms and bathrooms.

This is the guest house located on billionaire Les Wexner’s massive New Albany, Ohio estate. Lex is the founder, Chairman and CEO of Limited Brands. The Georgian style main house is said to be roughly 40,000 square feet in size. Then there’s the guest house, pictured above, which is bigger than most people’s homes! John Stefanidis designed the interiors of the Neoclassical-style guesthouse pavilion. The structure was recently remodeled by Donald Insall Associates, which expanded the porticoes and added a new entablature, columns and fretwork balustrades. Most of the rooms radiate off the two-story rotunda, which is ringed with a balcony and symmetrically arranged bookcases and is capped by a dome with trompe l’oeil coffering.

This unfinished 24,000 square foot mega mansion sold at auction in October of last year for just $900,000. The palatial home, dubbed the “The Palace at the Haven”, is located on S Compton Lane in Brookfield, WI. It was built by real estate developer Vincent Kuttemperoor for him and his wife. He started construction in the mid-2000s, but stopped because of financial reasons. The new owner is East Indian Milwaukee-area entrepreneur Bachan Singh. A 22-year-old Russian heiress has reportedly bought financier Sanford Weill’s Manhattan penthouse for the full asking price of $88,000,000!! This makes it the most expensive residential real estate deal in New York City history. The lavish 6,744 square foot apartment, located at 15 Central Park West, was purchased by Sanford and his wife for around $43.7 million back in 2007. They then put it on the market less than 2 months ago. The Russian heiress, Ekaterina Rybolovlev, is the daughter of billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev; who is worth an estimated $9.5 billion. Ekaterina will stay in the apartment while she studies at a university.

Parmar is the founder of Pegasus Blue Star Fund and also a film producer. The lavish estate boasts a main house and an entertainment annex attached to the main house by an underground tunnel. Amenities include an indoor swimming pool, 2-lane bowling alley, wine cellar, gym, home theater, tennis court and 2 outdoor swimming pools (one of them being saltwater and surrounded by imported sand). According to PropertyShark.com, Paul owes $26.3 million on the property. The foreclosure case was brought by Deutsche Bank, which held a $23 million mortgage on the compound.

Pierre Lagrange, who is a hedge fund manager and former Goldman Sachs Group Inc trader, has sold his London mansion for a whopping 90 million pounds or $145 million. Who’s the buyer you ask? None other than famous billionaire real estate addict Roman Abramovich. Pierre purchased the home, which is located in London’s exclusive Kensington Palace Gardens (right next to the home of billionaire Lakshmi Mittal), for 19 million pounds back in 2004. The sale comes after Lagrange and his wife filed for divorce. He was ranked 236th in this year’s Sunday Times Rich List with an estimated fortune of 331 million pounds.
