Former Citigroup executive and Heisman Trophy winner Pete Dawkins has listed his 18,000 sq. ft. waterfront mansion in Rumson, NJ for $29,900,000. Built in 2004, the mansion boasts 5 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms, a 6-car garage, and it has breathtaking views of the Navesink River. It was featured in architectual digest a couple years ago and he has been in a very long legal battle with his neighbor (Wall Street CEO Michael Gooch) over his plans to knock down a pool house and build new staff quarters. Thanks to Doug for the tip!!

HERE ARE THE LISTING DETAILS:

One of the East Coast’s most illustrious estates, Long Point occupies a premier location on a private peninsula surrounded by the glistening waters of the Navesink River. Offering a rare sense of seclusion, yet convenient to the charming town center and the area’s beautiful ocean beaches, the grounds afford wondrous vistas of the river – a wide bay-like estuary bordered on the north shore by the Monmouth Hills – one of the highest elevations along the eastern coastline. The estate, set amid 10.4 acres stretched along the south bank of the river, is introduced by stately gates and a 1/3 mile-long private drive that gracefully wends thru the beautifully-planted grounds to the grand Shingle-Style residence that serves as the centerpiece of the property. In addition to a guest cottage, the Peter Cummin-designed landscape also features extensive recreational amenities including a heated pool with spa, expansive terraces accented with twin belvederes, a fire pit and a distinctive pergola; a boat lift, private dock and sandy beach. A masterwork of Shingle-Style architecture, Long Point was designed by the esteemed architectural firm of Shope Reno Wharton and completed in 2004. Widely acclaimed for their unique take on classical architecture, the firm designed Long Point to take best advantage of its exceptional setting, following the natural scape of the river to create an immensely fluid design brimming with architectural surprises. Boldly scaled with nearly 18,000 square feet on two main levels and an additional 7200 square feet on the lower level, the home impresses with its understated elegance offering a myriad of warm and inviting rooms easily adaptable to both grand entertaining and more intimate gatherings.Soaring ceilings, unique windows, vast archways, barrel ceilings and the abundant use of columns are among the many resplendent details displayed throughout the residence, which employs classical rotundas on each floor to ensure an effortless flow throughout the home. But perhaps most memorable are the stunning river vistas that grace virtually every room of the home – a dramatic and ever-changing waterscape that delights throughout the seasons. Beautifully designed and masterfully crafted, Long Point offers the best of luxury living in a truly sublime waterfront setting.

The French Chateauesque style mansion located at 5 Buckingham Drive in Alpine, NJ has been re-listed. The home, which was built by local developer Richard Stabile, was designed by renowned architect John Henry. The home first went on the market for $15,975,000 in early 2009 and then was increased to $16,500,000 in early May during the same year. The home then went down below the $16 million mark and then vanished from the MLS about a month ago. Now, it is listed at $15,900,000 with Realmart instead of Prominent Properties. I have no idea why the owner did not stick with Prominent Properties considering this is a multi-million dollar home.

If you don’t know already, the owners of the home are Marc and Rachelle Saperstein. Marc has been one of New Jersey’s leading trial attorneys for more than two decades. He co-founded Teaneck-based Davis, Saperstein & Salomon, P.C., and helped build the firm into one of the largest and most successful plaintiffs’ personal injury law firms in New Jersey.

Tony again. Here’s a pretty sweet pad that I partied at a few months ago. I also found an article on it (link below) so some pics are from the article and the other pics are from my high-quality cell phone cam.

This place is in Orange, CA, is a little over 20,000 sq. ft., and is basically a miniature version of the Getty Museum. For starters, the front door is about 1-foot thick and bulletproof……very bulletproof. The owner demonstrated this to my buddy by firing a 12 gauge at it point blank (very stupid btw) to which my friend showed me the barely centimeter-deep “door ding” about the size of a penny that the entire blast created.

The garage is on the left and it hosts some very sweet custom cars, choppers and limos. The owner has been one of the top custom limo makers in the nation for the last 30 years. His clients range from former President Nixon’s blast-proof limo to 50 Cent’s new party bus. The most notable car I remember seeing in the garage was the actual ‘49 Mercury that Stallone drove in the movie Cobra.

The 1st (upper) floor consists of the usual living, dining, entertainment area (with pool table, bar and piano), kitchen and master bedroom (accessible only via fingerprint scan). There are a bunch of other rooms on this floor, most which are rented out. One of the part-time tenants is Chuck Zito (stars in HBO’s OZ, ex Hell’s Angels president and also famous for knocking Jean Claud Van Dam out cold at Score’s in NY). He’s actually a really nice guy. Funny enough, I inquired why one of the large bent glass windows had several giant spiderweb cracks in it. Apparently a pigeon smacked right into it a few weeks ago- So that means you have a better chance at getting in if you’re a small bird flying into the window than a burglar with a shotgun.
Although a lot of the furniture is just downright tacky, the view from the living room, upper balcony and lower balcony is amazing. It seriously made me feel like I was in an airplane.

Now the downstairs is where all the fun is at. Of course there’s the pool, firepit, and BBQ area outside. There’s also a 2nd “entertainment kitchen” and outdoor pool table (which they actually tossed in the swimming pool several weeks later to shoot games in the water. I call it Pool-Pool). Directly inside is a full blown nightclub complete with bar, lounge area, stripper poles, jukebox and DJ booth. Then there’s several more bedrooms and the movie theater. Go further inside and there’s a casino. Since gambling’s illegal, he simply prints his own fake currency.

A very fun place indeed. This was also the place for hosting the infamous annual Halloween swinger’s balls up until last year. The cops raided the 2008 party and, no joke, they literally came down on cables from helicopters because of the “illegal” sexual activity going on. All charges were dropped. Now there’s taxpayer dollars well spent. He will rent the place out for parties. About $18,000 gets you 1 night with catering included.

Here’s the article.

The 32,000 square foot former home of Generoso Pope, located at 1370 S Ocean Blvd in Manalapan, FL,  is back on the market for $16.9 million.

Just a few months ago, motivational expert Peter S. Lowe and his wife, Tamara A. Lowe, sold 1370 South Ocean Boulevard for a recorded price of $22,458,406.34 to Germantown-Seneca Joint Venture, a Maryland general partnership, with a post office box address in St. Petersburg, Fla., according to the warranty deed. The Lowes are the founders of the Tampa-based GET MOTIVATED! seminar, described on their website as capable of “more inspirational firepower than a stick of dynamite.” Best known as the former estate of the late Generoso Pope, founder and publisher of The National Enquirer tabloid, the eight bedroom-nineteen bathroom multi-level approx. 30,000-square-foot house is located on nearly three acres with 300-feet of ocean and waterway frontage, a 12-car garage, a stunning oceanfront grand salon, oceanfront gourmet kitchen with separate catering kitchen, movie theater, fitness center, games room, opulent office, marble basement including 12 car showcase garage and 2000 bottle wine cellar, guest house, tennis court with pavilion, tropical pool with grotto waterfalls and swim-up bar, formidable seawall with retractable stairs to beach, fully accessorized dock to accommodate motor yachts to 200′, is currently assessed at $22.493 million, according to the property appraiser’s records.

Five years ago Mr. and Mrs. Lowe bought the house for $22.4 million from well known mansion developer Frank McKinney, through his company Venture Concepts International. The Lowes financed the purchase with two Bank of America mortgages totaling $18 million. In April 2005 Bank of America extended the couple an additional $100,000 revolving credit line, modified in January 2007 to $3.4 million. Last July the Lowes satisfied a $2 million IRS lien on the property, filed in 2007. Adding to the house’s provenance, Mr. McKinney bought and sold the property twice. In 1999 he paid $15 million to Lois Pope, Mr. Pope’s widow and third wife, who had owned the house since the early 1970s. Then, after an extensive renovation, he sold it to software tycoon Daniel Gittleman in 2000 for $27.5 million, only to buy it back from one of Mr. Gittleman’s companies four years later for $19 million. Then, he sold it to the Lowes.
