This historic estate, named “Casa Encantada”, just hit the market for a whopping $225 million, making it the most expensive home currently for sale in the country. It is located in Bel Air, Los Angeles, California and is perched high above the Bel-Air Country Club. It is currently owned by financier Gary Winnick.

It was built in the 1930’s for the widow of a multimillionaire glass manufacturer at a cost of $2 million ($35 million in today’s dollars). In 1950 it was purchased by Conrad Hilton for $225,000. Hilton died in 1979 and the estate was then purchased by David Murdoch. Winnick purchased the home in 2000 and has owned it ever since.

The estate boasts a main house and guest house with approximately 40,000 square feet of living space.
