Looks like they ran out of money when they got to doing the interior.

I actually really like the flow of this home. I must agree with you in that the interior does not reflect at all what is promised from the exterior. As an interior designer, I immediately began to imagine all the changes that could elevate the look of this home. The flow seems great as all rooms are open to one another, but still feel enclosed, which is not a bad thing, This eradicates the need to use tricks to delineate areas. I am not so keen about the arches all over, but with the right design scheme it could totally blend or if possible, removing a few is helpful in updating the look. I would propose all wood finishes to be lightened to a soft, warm gray undertone white oak to remove the orange-yellow look of the current stain, that’s truthfully not very pretty. Repainting all the walls to a lighter color, or even adding a textured silk wallpaper to the dining room would add instant value to the home. As always, a thoughtful reconfiguration, furniture and lighting plan could help this home feel cozy as the rooms are beautifully scaled. The windows are great, too. As for the kitchen, if I was assigned this home, it would be the first thing I’d tackle. It just does not reflect the luxuriousness of the home. The stain on the cabinets is way too outdated and even the style of the cabinets is lacking style. All custom cabinetry would make the most sense in this home. I do love the slightly vaulted ceiling in there and the fact the cabinets go all the way to the ceiling.
