A masterpiece of the “Cabela’s-Gander Mountain-Bass Pro Shops Transitional” style, also known as “Flintstones Revival.” The thing I really dislike about craftsman-log-cabin-rustic efforts is how little intrinsic worth there is to the genre, and how much it relies on other styles. Pictures #4,5,6 – the tree-trunk & boulder construction had to be accented by the segmented wall of modern glass. Modern furniture too. #7 – colonial furniture to save the day. The bar in #8 could have come out of a Friday’s or Applebee’s. #12, the wine cellar is medieval with its brick vaulted ceiling. Modern lighting fixtures everywhere. Etc., etc., you get the idea. The exterior architecture is rarely if ever be carried through to the interior on its own – it needs help from lots of other styles. Result, a hot mess of forced, uncomplimentary eclecticism.
