21 bedrooms! I see a nursing home or a rehab center for the rich and infamous. Insults aside (it’s impossible for a mansion this big to look ‘residential’), the palatial architecture is breathtaking and the interior craftsmanship is unsurpassed. Geezus, look at the wood! The foyer, great room, dining room and home office alone are worth the price of admission. The 12 acre lot, indoor and outdoor pools, the landscaping – just about every box is checked. Trouble is, for this amount of money, a buyer with a talented architect and a quality builder can have anything he wants, and not to have to settle for anyone else’s visions.

I simply don’t like the Jacobean Revival style and therefore I really don’t care for this mansion. They seem to have put a lot of effort into the renovation/restoration, which is good.

The stonework around the roof could use some sandblasting.

Place is definitely a throwback. Reminds me of my grandparent’s old house that just went on the market:

Obviously this house is a lot smaller and more modest though. It was built in 1911 and my grandparents owned it throughout the 70s. Sold it in the early 80s. They rented it out to some pretty high profile people including Diana Ross and John Lennon.
