The architecture is grand and stately. The craftsmanship displayed in the master bath and library are exemplary. I have issues with the kitchen layout – basically it sucks. But this is a far better offering than the listing in Henderson, NV posted right before.

First, the cabinetry and stonework is gorgeous. A bitch to clean, but gorgeous. And I do appreciate the double dishwashers. As a retired restaurateur, I am naturally fussy about kitchen layouts. Like most chefs and line cooks, I prefer a galley (inline) arrangement. of everything. I also like to have counter space on both sides of the range (there’s none here) and there should be a lot of free counter space for lots and lots of small appliances – mixers, blenders, fryers, juicers, toaster, etc. and even built-in cold tables for sandwich and pizza ingredients. And I’ve been spoiled by the convenience of refrigerated drawers under the cooktop. I know these are mostly ‘commercial’ eccentricities, but I entertain a lot and sometimes we all find ourselves in the kitchen with everybody pitching in on one thing or another – lotsa fun. For almost $6 million, I shouldn’t have to ‘settle.’
