Smithcliffs is exactly that – cliffs – 200 feet above the beaches and anything but ‘steps away.’ It’s an all day hike down the cliffs to the beach and back. Why Californians consider this property to be worth $25 million alone is proof of their general derangement. Yes, the view of the ocean is romantic , but once you’ve seen it a dozen times and it becomes routine, then what? Familiarity breeds contempt and you’re still out all those millions.
The house itself is quite nice, but nothing special except the roof terrace, and that’s uncovered and exposed to the elements which makes it no better than a ground level terrace so even that’s not so great.

I agree. I’d much rather have a sprawling estate on lots of acreage inland than a tiny lot overlooking the ocean.

Also being so close to the ocean always seemed dangerous to me. Maybe not so much in California but certainly a place like Florida, especially on the west coast of Florida

Beautiful property designed by Brion Jeanette. It has view, good floor plan, exclusivity and I love the deck, library and foyer. 4 Stars for me.

The commentor Horselips is ENTIRELY something ELSE. If it isn’t a 90,000 sq. ft. english/french or italian whore house from 1750 that’s been tarted up EVEN MORE with 20 tons of every possible gaudy feature you can think of, he/she thinks it’s downright ugly and worthless. UTTERLY astonishing. And he/she actually criticized the location AND view!! LOL!!
