TOTALLY, Dude! My best friend is a big time, very successful luxury real estate agent and he’s told me a bunch of times about Clients who are anywhere from verrry “religious” to downright FANATICS with crucifixes, religious paintings, statues, bottles of “holy” water and different shit like that in their houses. He tells them that all of that stuff HAS to be cleared out before the house is photographed ’cause they can’t afford to turn off ANY potential buyers who aren’t like them, especially ’cause they overprice their houses too which is no surprise, of course.

Palaces and manors usually had chapels for the benefit of the residents and guests. If the owner was of high status, he may have even have been assigned a full time cleric as confessor and spiritual advisor. This pleasant little chapel was certainly used for regular prayer and meditation, and if the owner was handicapped and unable to attend church, it is probable a priest may have made a house-call and celebrated Mass. Mansions commissioned by Muslims usually have a prayer room as well. Mansions built in Mexico sometimes include an altar over which sacrificial victims have their chests torn open with obsidian knives and their still-beating hearts ripped out … just kidding.
