I kinda like this home. Not so much the exterior architecture; it reminds me of The First Church of the Unitarians but the inside is pretty cool. I love the garage, home theater and the MBR but it does need a good sized home office/library. A setting like that is conducive to getting some business done at home, or just catching up on some reading.

This is the kind of house you vacation at, not buy. It’s modern/contemporary architecture is wrong for the neighborhood and DC ! and the pool sits on the CORNER of two streets, in the front of the house !

I’m not a fan of modern or contemporary design, inside or out. That said, I find the built-in ledge, call it an extended hearth, that snakes around the Great Room and along the wall of the Family Room is a great way to provide a ‘yuge’ amount of seating for entertaining large parties. Good job, architect.

  • This is the home of BET CEO Debra Lee. One of my former wealth clients lived down the street from this house, so I passed it often when I visited him. From the street, the home is breathtaking and it is definitely a one-of-a-kind home given the fact that so many homes in the District feature more classic designs.

She threw a nice $40,000 a plate fundraiser for Barack Obama in this house. Guests could park in the 9 car garage.

…and it is just a couple of stone throws away across the Potomac Pkwy from President Obama’s house that they will rent after they leave the White House.

Fabulous home outside and inside (for the most part). I’m sure it’s a HUGE breath of fresh air for contemporary architecture lovers there in D.C. as the city is positively over run with historic/traditional/formal/french/english/mediterranean homes that are easily 75+ years old. Gorgeous!
