Ten million bucks, twice the Zestimate, and you don’t get enough room for a hot tub, let alone a swimming pool. In fact, the lot is smaller than the minimalist 60×100 that’ standard with most entry-level, $150K-$200K developments. The high tension utility lines nicely accent the outdoor facilities, and that big, panoramic window in the kitchen offers a great view of the … naybers. That glass front door is begging burglars to make the attempt. There’s a busy church (heretical) across the street, so forget the quiet enjoyment of the neighborhood. it sold in 2006 to a sucker for $1.5 million, twice what it was worth back then. This is Barrio Bentley at its worst.

The house itself is an absolute, pure, jaw-dropping and breath taking MASTERPIECE. The fact that it’s not just another hospital white-walled and mahogany dark brown floored clone is delightful enough, but this place is a spectacular jewel. I am in lust with it. THE LOT, however, is as horrible as the house is magnificent which will destroy any hopes of getting that stark raving mad price and it serves the builder/owner exactly right. Beyond psychotic doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of this clinically insane price and leaves a very bad taste in my mouth.
