“Now I can begin to live like a human being.” – Emperor Nero beholding the Domus Aurea, which, by the way, was a far better effort than this, and you can be sure Nero didn’t have a stupid little round table in his foyer. Hmmm, this travesty has 33 bedrooms but only 25 bathrooms. Surely many of those bathrooms are powder rooms or half-baths located throughout. That means maybe half the bedrooms must muddle through with shared or hall baths. I guess with only 77,000 square feet to work with space for baths is at a premium. I know, it’s tough finding a good architect.

Thirty-three bedrooms sounds insane to me. It’s not a mansion anymore, it’s a private resort.

I sincerely dislike all of it. It’s too spread out, it’s too big, it’s too impersonal. The biggest travesty is that there isn’t a single luxurious element I can find. A dour mess.
