The woods encroach a bit too close for my comfort – too much cover for home invaders or burglars. I’d like a little more of an open buffer zone surrounding the building, under video surveillance. Sadly, security is an issue that, nowadays, must be considered in the design of the home, and the landscaping around it. As for the house itself – overall – 7 out of 10.

I would not personally be too concerned about burglars, I have lived in Edina for pretty much my whole life and even know the grandson of the family who own this house, and trust me it is an incredibly safe area. I have only once in like 20 years heard of any burglaries or crime in the city and they were done by the same two guys who would ring ring the doorbell to see if anyone was home, and if not smash in the door and quick grab some stuff. I do believe they were caught when a homeowner was napping on the couch and woke up when they broke in.

Anyways safety aside I agree that some of the home is not perfect, a tad outdated, I don’t think it has been updated since 2003 when it was built. It is easily walking distance to Interlachen though, so there is that.

I love the woods around this house, and if you know the area, and I do, then you know that crime is the least of your worries in Edina. No need for cameras and such, in fact that would look very out of place for Edina and probably wouldn’t be allowed by the HOA. This estate is in an area of the Twin Cites known for large estates. Gorgeous house and setting.
