What a horrific house. If this is a mansion, then, well, we are truly fucked.

Ghastly. Wouldn’t pay over a million for this.

This is trash, just absolutely revolting, Oak Brook is a nice area. But most of the houses look like this. The floor plans are a hot mess. That butlers pantry might as well be a powder room. Not even connected to the kitchen OR dining room. Gross

I’m scarred for life just from the elevation. As for the rest, don’t get me started.

Of all the design atrocities committed by the “architect” of this place, my favorite has to be the doorway into the kitchen directly around the corner from the wide open space between the kitchen and family room. I guess walking an extra three feet down the hallway to enter the kitchen would have been that much too much. The resulting tall, skinny cabinet would be best turned into a built-in grandfather clock.

It’s sad, but if you’d just demolish this… thing… at the entrance, and replace circular window (and for me, also the arched doorway) with something standard and rectangular, you’d be left with a plain but inoffensive and serviceable home. Not mansion, but home. Their downfall was trying to make this home ‘grand’ against the odds.
