If that magnificent elevation doesn’t capture your imagination, you’re already dead. This fine mansion deserves more than a 1/3 acre lot. So many compromises are inherent in such a site, it’s almost a deal-breaker.

A fine example of a Beaux-Atrs mansion, quite well done overall. Home theater and wine cellar (sic, closet) are a joke, however. It’s like they ran out of both space and money when they reached the basement. Really inexcusable, but presumably the owners didn’t care about those spaces. Most $2M mansions have either bigger, better, or both.

    Good:
Design and architecture of the outside of the residence
FINALLY a two story foyer with a staircase that doesn’t look like the typical “double staircase mansion”
Really like the painted ceilings instead of the usual plain white
    ….. And that’s about it

    Bad (really bad)
The bathrooms have no break in design in the marble and when you cover the majority of the room in it, it gives it a camouflage effect and ruins it (especially in dark colors)
Nothing really special about the master closet, although I will add if your going to have your house featured on a website called homes of the rich …. CLEAN IT UP!
The wine cellar looks like it was a Home Depot weekend project, and really the cheap liquor on a shelf in the background and I’m not a wine connoisseur but isn’t there supposed to be wine glasses in that rack above the liquor?
Home theater ?! HAHAHAHA !! whew that’s great …. NO! A 42″ TV with a cheap cut in surround sound speaker next to the TV is NOT A HOME THEATER! And a side note if your are building a “home theater” in your over priced mansion buy home theater seats NOT couches that look like they were floor models at a rent to own store !!!!
And the pool ….. It’s as pathetic as the home theater.
Does this home owner hate grass? Because he bricked up his entire front and back yard!

I love the Beaux Arts style. This house is overall very beautiful and tastefully done given the space available. Though I agree the with the others, the wine cellar and home theater are a cruel joke.
