So that’s the direction they’re going in with this home. Well, it’s about time someone did something with this. Ever since Frank McKinney remodeled it for Lois Pope, it’s never really found it’s place. The huge open rooms really deserved a contemporary design from the get go. Curious to see it finished.

And, these CGI images of completely finished megalomaniacal-monster-mansions and ragingly & insanely over priced apartments in New York and EVERY where else on this planet need to STOP, PERMANENTLY.

I don’t mind the renderings, as long as they’re representative of the precise details.

If you study the floor plan for a minute… the pictures #4 & #5 don’t even exist in the floorplan? It depicts the staircase going straight back walking towards the water with a 90-degree turn at the top and a few steps parallel to the water. There is no staircase anything like that in the floorplan.

For a mega mansion, I really appreciate the floor plans simplicity. There aren’t a lot of extra rooms, just every room is large, and it all adds up.

I looked up a 15,000 sq ft house plan on one of the house plan websites, and that plan has everything this plan has but with half the square footage.

The problem with oversized mansions done in a contemporary style like this P.O.S. is that they come off looking like an apartment complex or an office building. Case in point – pictures 1 and 3. Why not just knock the thing down and build a proper palace.
