I like this interpretation of classical architecture, inside and out, especially the Egyptianesque (is that a word?) capitals on the columns supporting the porte cochere and entrance. I like the stonework on the walls and flooring. I would convert the bowling alley into a pistol range, and the basketball court into a ballroom. My only issue with the floorplan is a very common flaw I see in many mansions – the seemingly obligatory dual staircase terminates in a balcony that inexplicably crosses directly over the front doors, dropping that first-impression ceiling height. I’d rather enter directly into a double height foyer than have to first pass under a balcony or hallway.
