At the risk of mincing words too much, this appears to be more of a ‘chalet’ than it does and ‘chateaux’ That being said, the setting is magnificent. It’s also somewhat mind blowing to this is nothing more than a weekend cottage for someone who most likely has houses all around the world. You wouldn’t have to put a gun to my head to turn this into a year round abode for myself and my posse.

I generally like this. It’s a standard chalet but with a modern edge. I’m not fond of the brick columns in the kitchen, and that shmate covering the window in the theater needs to be changed, posthaste. That said, I think the decor could be refined more, but overall I really like the bones of the house.

Interestingly, my spellchecker wants to correct “shmate” to “shemale”. Hmmm…

I don’t like it much. But then, I’m not a fan of the “Craftsman” style. This is Boonesboro with a thyroid condition.
