I usually hate Florida Mansions, and this one had me surprised.
Someone living in the house really makes a difference in terms of the “Feel” of it, it seems much more like a home than just a cold empty space.
Whoever the owners are, I’d like to meet them. The fact that in the Library they have a sign that says “Shut The F*ck Up” instantly endears them to me! 😀

That is a Mel Bochner painting, or a copy of one. It’s exactly the kind of thing I would put in my house!

I drive by this almost every day after work, and am finally happy to find photos of the interior. The lot is really spectacular. Direct Intracoastal and 1 acre+ of land in Boca is *very* hard to come by.

As for the house, I love it. The details inside and out and superb. The unnecessary but still very beautiful pool bathroom and arch is incredible. The pool itself one of the nicest I’ve ever seen. Landscaping is fantastic. The interior is formal but still livable.

The only fault I find was the fact the owner didn’t make the home wider when he had so much space on one side. If you look through the photos, you’ll see a giant side lawn. I would have sacrificed this piece of land to widen the home, which I think would improve it aesthetically. Other than that, it is one of Boca’s nicest homes. Can’t wait to see how the one a few lots south will turn out.

I am curious why you think the pool bathroom is not needed?
Don’t tell me you’ve never been in a pool and felt things “shift” before… Because you are very happy indeed to have a bathroom a few feet from the pool lol

I mean, sure it’s great, but the fact that it’s incorporated into the arches is why I think it’s obnoxious, but wonderfully so.

          Ah lol. Understandable 😀

I’m surprised, but I like it. The exterior could use a little patina of age, but that will come. It looks like there’s been a docking “bay” dug into the lot, which is a nice addition. The interior is beautiful. Other than getting rid of the probably-fake plant in pic 7, I could move right in as it is and be comfortable. All that said and as nice as the place is, I still wouldn’t want to live in Boca.
