The exterior isn’t bad. I like the mission style, but there’s an awful lot of smooth white stucco. The windows in the back are too plain and look cheap. I hate the screened-in pool, but I know it’s necessary to enjoy any amount of outdoor time in this part of Florida. That alone is a black mark against the place. I do love that the house is set way way back from road.

Inside, it’s great that it’s not all beige, but this has crossed over into kitsch in some areas. The living room and gallery ceilings are interesting, but the fact that there’s a recreation of the Oval Office ruins the whole thing for me.

This was “A Top Aurora Award Winning Home” according to article link provided. I really have no clue as to what pedigree that imparts upon this particular residence, nor do I care.
For me, the beauty of a mission home is the history it silently shares. The varying roof lines, the differences in finishes and a particular stamp each addition portends to. It was expanded as needed, and not constructed in whole. Each segment of the home, is as different as the craftsmen that were hired, when the home required expansion. They would mark it with their particular brand of artistry.
This home… has none of that.
