Interesting house. Maybe not pretty, but different. Lovely setting though. Pity it seems none of the rooms have a view of the lake or mountain.

Didn’t much care for the exterior at first glance, but then I kept looking. It’s quite interesting and intriguing. Certainly different and not in a go-screaming-for-the-hills-way. It may not be picturesque but there’s still something that draws my attention. And it may just be that I’m relieved it isn’t another mock-Med or French chateau, or Spanish revival.

There is no wow factor for me on the inside, which was disappointing. I think based on the exterior I expected a little quirky oddity here and there that would make it’s mark on me. It’s simply a large home. Definitely quite a bit of warmth for family and hints of grandiose for formal entertaining.

But, there’s a part of me that feels disappointed and let down. Oh well.

I very much like the exterior. It feels like a modern (and albeit smaller) interpretation of Chateau Frontenac. It’s different but not in a shocking way.

Sadly, the interior is mundane compared to the exterior. There’s nothing new or interesting, and it’s not creative at all. There are some nice spaces and some interesting details, but it doesn’t live up to the design of the outside.
