Michael Jordan’s mega mansion in the guard gated “The Bear’s Club” golf community in Jupiter, FL is finally complete. It took 6 months of planning and 18 months of construction. Michael bought the land back in 2008 for $4.8 million and spent $7.6 million constructing it. The contemporary style home features 18 separate roof lines and features approximately 28,000 square feet of living space. It boasts 11 bedrooms, 6 on the 2nd floor alone, and an athletic wing with indoor basketball court and professional gym. There is also a 2-story guard house, guest house and a pool house.

Ehhhh. Really, there are some beautiful homes within the Bears Club, but this is so out of place. Not the size that bothers me, just the mid 1990s South Florida Contemporary style and the overall blandness of it. And seriously, a guard house? The Bears Club already has strict security as is – ain’t nobody goin’ to steal your damn shoes! I’d rather have either of these within the Bears Club:

I agree on both counts. I can understand maybe your own gate, but your own guard house in a community that sells itself on high security & exclusivity.
And the exterior has little if any architectural interest. I’d love to see a English manor style home, but that is my tastes.
Just because people live in your neighborhood does not mean they or their friends are trustworthy. Plus you have various workmen coming in and out of their everyday. Your security work for you and if you can afford it, it never hurts to have additional security.
Speaking of Michael Jordan’s shoes…I played golf with a Dr in AZ a few years back and when we walked down into the locker room he opened the shoes drawer next to his and pointed out 4 pairs of Michael Jordan’s personal golf shoes in the locker next to his. I keep thinking back about how much money I could have made if I could have sold those on ebay.
Let’s just say the other residents in the community are more likely to wear Tom Ford or RL Purple Label rather than Nike/Air Jordan.
He did not say they were Nike/Air Jordans, he said they were Jordan’s personal golf shoes.
This mega deal is good if you constantly enjoy playing hide and seek.
