Holwood House is a historic mansion located in London. It was painstakingly renovated over a 3 year period by the current owner. It features approximately 24,940 square feet of living space with 9 bedrooms, beautiful Clive Christian gourmet kitchen, home theater, billiards room and more. The expansive grounds feature manicured lawns and a tennis court.

This is a fantastic home. I love everything about it, especially the kitchen. Clive Christian is one of the best kitchen designers around. I’m curious as to what other amenities the house offers. I’m thinking it also has indoor swimming pool; as most London mansions do.

I want to love it, but some of the rooms just seem off. Exterior in general is very nice but it’s missing patina. Kitchen cabinetry is lovely but the layout is horrible. Dining room seems like an afterthought. It’s almost as if the billiards room should be the dining room and vice versa. Love the theater. Hate the master bath setups. The radiators in the bedroom are ugly.

Why is it that every time I google-map what the listing photos imply will be a variation of a very private and pastoral Downton Abbey, there’s always some adjacent hulking building/complex that’s been carefully cropped from the photos? And central London is actually 17 miles away — for whatever “price upon request” they’re asking, I’m sure there’s much better value to found on The Bishop’s Avenue. Between the clunky location and even clunkier interiors, this particular “Old English Pile” is neither here nor there.

I couldn’t agree more. I can only imagine what the absurd “price upon request” is seeing as the original Holwood Estate is literally across the driveway and a block of 80+ flats is literally 500 feet to the west.

I have to agree with Daniel, on all of his points. The house itself is beautiful, but it doesn’t feel like the restoration was done very sympathetically. Is that actually the dining room in picture 4 or is it a breakfast room? Either way, the mezzanine completely destroyed the proportions of the room.

My biggest complaint is that it has another building (I can’t guess what it is but it’s labeled The Courtyard) right in the front garden, and there’s a large apartment complex right next door: http://goo.gl/maps/or0Yt

There are also a few (not very good) pics on the designer’s web site: http://www.quintondesign.com/project.php?t=i&id=81. It’s interesting that it mentions that it was a commercial building before it was converted back into a private house.

Really do not care for this one, it does not have my kind of bling; however, the olive color in some photographs do show well.

Clive Christian usually does great kitchens, this is not one of them. Got a Russian vibe about this place. There is a Russian involved in this somehow, owner, designer, something.
Apart from the size, this place is pretty unremarkable.

This house is a stank ass hot stank fugly ooogly mess!!! This is a dreadfully awful renovation. This has cheap, horrible materials. The walls look cheap. The floors look like home depot’s rejects and I think the decor is from Family Dollar. Also did you see the old fashioned furnace things on the bedroom wall? That’s just dreadful. If they did a real renovation those would have been ripped out and they would have added central air conditioning. This is a hot stank steaming dump of a mess!!!!

‘in London’? I didn’t realise London was so empty !:) Colour schemes used in the billiard room and the office are quite striking, the hallway is not bad either. Kitchen and the rest don’t do much for me.
