This newly built mansion is located at the end of Willowbrook Drive in Potomac, MD. It’s still under construction in Bing Map’s bird’s eye view, but you can see that it’s completed when looking at Google’s Street view. It looks to be in excess of 25,000 square feet and includes two turrets. Potomac definitely doesn’t have a shortage of mega mansions, there seems to be a new one popping up every month! Can’t wait to see what this one looks like finished.

    Strange home orientation.

I’ve never been a fan of Potomac mansions to be honest, they always appear ostentatious and out of place. This doesn’t seem to be any different, even in the early stages, you can tell its going to look like a flat pack assembly mansion with cheap fixtures and fittings.

I agree, generally speaking, with your opinion of Potomac mansions. I really don’t like them either. We can always hope though…maybe this one won’t be so bad.

This house is far from completed, the only thing that is complete is the roof. It has been under construction for atleast 4 years. The building site almost looks abandoned but you can tell they are working on it slowly.

I agree with Sam above on Potomac mansions…the only thing that intrigues me about this place is the turrets. Unfortunately, they probably only tell us that this’ll be a heinously tacky faux-castle.

The Maryland suburbs of DC leave me cold as far as large homes go, but there are some genuinely beautiful Georgian/Colonial and Shingle homes on Congressional Parkway, Fox Meadow Lane, and Durham Drive (other than the monstrosity from Kenny’s other post), and some drop-dead gorgeous traditional Colonials on Country Club Drive in Bethesda. For any fans of Colonials, do check out Country Club Drive, they’re all beautiful.

It looks two to three times the size of the nearby houses. While some of them look nice, why would someone want to have a house that’s so much larger than those surrounding it?
