This English style stone mansion, built in 2006, is located at 4N426 Knollcreek Drive in Saint Charles, IL and is situated on 1.35 acres. The inside features stone floors, stone accent walls, custom woodwork and wainscoting throughout. There is approximately 9,000 square feet of living space with 6 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms, formal dining room, 2-story great room with large stone fireplace and 2 Juliet balconies, home office with custom built-ins and bay window, eat-in gourmet kitchen, breakfast room with coffered ceiling and built-in cabinets, family room, gym, crafts room and more. The spectacular lower level boasts a pub area, billiards room, custom home theater and a wine cellar. The wooden beam ceilings and stone accent walls give a rustic vibe to this level which I just love. There is also a 4-car garage and multi-level patios and decks.

Overall, a nice home for the price. Odd address though. The exterior and interior are lovely, with the exception of a couple cheap rooms (breakfast area and master bath). Overall, not much to complain about. Gorgeous nighttime exterior shot.

The one in photo 5? I think photo 7 is the main dining room – that one I love.

It’s very quaint-looking from the front. It’s not bad but it feels very watered down architecturally. The single set of shutters on the right-side windows bothers me. The interior has some OK spaces, and some interesting details. The furnishings range from predictably boring (living room) to predictably gaudy (master bed), but getting rid of all of it leaves some good possibilities. I don’t understand the point of the corbels in the master bedroom.

Hate, hate, hate the kitchen and masterbedroom. House needs a pool. I think the interior of this house (ceilings, double story windows and bathrooms etc) will look very dated in years to come.
