Location: 2 Margo Way, Alpine, NJ
Square Footage: 34,000
Bedrooms & Bathrooms: 8 bedrooms & 13 bathrooms
Sales Price: $20,000,000
This 34,000 square foot mega mansion located in Alpine, NJ sold for $20 million on December 29th, making it one of the most expensive homes ever sold in the state. Located at 2 Margo Way, the 27-room home first came on the market back in June of 2011 with an asking price of $34 million. It was then lowered to $29 million in March of 2012.
It was built in the 2000′s and offers a motor court, heated stone driveway, lush landscaping, carport, 8-car garage, 8 bedroom suites, 11 full and 2 half bathrooms, formal living and dining rooms, elevator, guest suite with office and kitchen, 2-story great room, gourmet kitchen, breakfast room, morning room with fireplace, custom bar, catering kitchen, bowling alley, indoor and outdoor saltwater swimming pools, indoor basketball court, home theater, wine cellar, terrace and more.
The well known Stone Mansion is around the same size of this home and is currently on the market for a whopping $49 million. Hmm…makes you wonder what it would sell for considering the sales price of this home. Granted, the Stone Mansion is newer and nicer, but I still don’t see it selling for more than $30 million.

Its a nice house and the $20 million is reasonable. But I agree with you on the Stone Mansion.
Well I was off by $3 million. Nice, but as I said before, feels dated.
Definitely more dated than the Stone Mansion, so that’s the only reasons I see the Stone Mansion selling for about $10 million more.
I don’t like it any more now than I did when it was first posted. But, I do hope the new owners enjoy their home.
Ditto.
Price seems fair for the area and type of home and size of home it is.
They need to just give up and let the Stone Mansion go.
