My eyes have been raped!!! it’s not even beautiful, and whats with the gate? for over 100 acres you’d think they’d put the gate far from the main house and have a long driveway! the garden is not attractive at all, too.

Well you see if they put it at the end of the long driveway it would mean all those peasants passing by wouldn’t admire the house and marvel at how rich the owners are!

BTW, Sothebys are not trying very hard here. You’d think if someone is trying to sell an 18 million dollar item, they could do a bit better than four postage-size photos…

I really don’t think those dual staircases out back are big enough. In lieu of the basement level they should have just it one giant staircase.

I wish designers would stop blaming Versailles for the monstrosities they create, like this one. I suppose that the egotism, sense of entitlement, and pretentiousness that led to Versailles will all be present in whoever would buy this, so I guess is it fair to claim it as an inspiration.

Beyond that, there’s very little architectural similarity, and this is just ugly.

I actually like this. I’d love to see the floorplans of it.

The home itself, while ostentatious, is still very beautiful! The gardens on the other hand, are hideously overdone and tacky.

I also think the renderings show real potential. It could end up being stunningly gorgeous with quality and crasftsmanship……….nah who am I kidding. This is going to end up looking totally grotesque.

this is neither the most beautiful nor the most atrocious design that’s been published in recent memory. that said, there is almost ZERO similarity between this and the palace of versailles. i wish people would stop calling every enormous house “versailles” or “versailles inspired”. silliness…
