The outside is shockingly bad. The front facade is just a mess and, while it’s better, the back is not great either. The siding looks very cheap and the stone on the front is a major mistake (at least in terms of how it was implemented).

The interior isn’t offensive, but it’s incredibly boring. There are a couple of interesting details, but nothing about it is a real standout. The kitchen and bathroom cabinets look home-built. The miniature concession stand in the corner of the theater is kind of sad.

I assume the land is worth 90% of the asking price since I can’t see almost $15 million worth of house here.

Speaking of home theaters, and not specific to this house, why do people put up only movie posters or stills from movies in their home theaters? Is it so they don’t forget that it’s a theater? I want real art in my theater, like a Hopper or Lichtenstein, not some craft store poster.

Regarding the theater artwork, I would assume that someone wouldn’t want to hide such a prestigious piece within a dark room that is only used for a couple hours maybe once or twice a week, if that. If I paid millions for artwork, I’d want to showcase it in a part of the home that is very obvious and seen by as many eyes as possible. Living and dining rooms, wide hallways, etc.

I can’t beleive this place was actually built-it is really ugly. The frontfacade looks like it was a 60’s split level that was just added to-poorly.

The home is an ugly bore. Give me a Fauxterranean on the water in Boca over this.

I keep waiting for a listing that will finally make me “get” Atherton. Something tells me Godot will show up before that happens, though.

I love it. It is a French country manor. The pool is wonderful. It reminds me of the Channel commercial. If you all don’t understand the value of an acre in Atherton you don’t understand real estate. This is an estate in the best area of the country.

You mean $1.495 million, right? I don’t give two craps about Atherton, this house is crap.
