Investor and pro soccer (Houston Dynamo) team owner Gabriel Brener has put his estate in Holmby Hills up for sale. It was built in 2001 on the land of Walt Disney’s last home. It is located on N Carolwood Drive in Los Angeles, CA (right next to the $125 million Fleur de Lys estate) and is situated on 3.6 acres. The mega mansion was designed by William Hablinski Architecture and features 8 bedrooms, 17 bathrooms, 2-story oval foyer with grand staircase, formal living and dining rooms, gourmet kitchen, 3 bars, library, gym, wine cellar, home theater, 2 safe rooms and much more. The grounds feature a swimming pool, pool house, putting green and a tennis court. It is listed at $90,000,000. He tried shopping it around (off market) last year for around $80 million, with no luck.

One of my favorite homes on the west coast. Fantastic history, exceptional lot. The home is a wee bit dated, but from the $35 million your saving from the asking price of Fleur de Lys, I say this is the much better deal.

Would love to see the inside! AMAZING home!!! However, 90 Million is very over-prised. There have been many homes that had more than 35,000 sq. ft. and sold for a much less price.

Agreed. A prime example is Le Belvedere which is 13,000 square feet larger and sold for $50 million.

I’m surprised that one hasn’t made it to Wiktionary yet!

I actually really love this home. I think if I saw the inside I would love it even more. Location is unbeatable, too. Does anyone know if there are any interior pictures or even better, floor plans to this mansion?

This is way over priced. I wouldn’t pay more than $30 million to $40 million. You have to have something special about a house to warrant close to $100 million. For example, Fluer Dy Lys is on more acreage. I think Fluer Dy Lys is only on 5 point something acres but the way it is laid out it looks like a lot more cause it has a long drive way leading up to the house and the stone exterior and quality french look makes it something exceptional that stands above other homes in the area. Also a home like The Manor is the largest home in Los Angeles and it backs up right against the Los Angeles Country Club golf course. Also Garry Winnick’s $90 million Bel Air home is on over 8 aces and is in the middle of the golf course of the Bel-Air Country Club. But this house isn’t that special to warrant $90 million. I’d rather buy a crappier house on a 3 plus acre lot for cheap and tear it down and build something even better for under $90 million. You could probably find a 3 plus acre house in Bel Air for under $25 million, especially if it is an old house in bad condition. And then tear it down and build a 50,000 square foot house for about $50 million. That would be a total of $75 million or less and you’d have a way better house.

Love this place. I’ve seen some great interior shots on the Architects site.

Interesting it spent nearly a year on the market quietly before a listing came up onlinr

It’s a lovely house, but the price is laughable. I’m sure when it was being quietly shopped at $80 million, most people who’d be interested in and able to buy a house like this were made aware of it, and it’s still for sale. The idea that it will sell for $10 million more is just silly. But, just look at all the free publicity it will get with that asking price.

The house is nice but the pool looks awkard looking like its too narrow but i thinks its just because the house is very large that it just makes it look small, it kinda looks like a lap pool. Its just ugly.

How long ago were the Project Page shots made? Wonder what the house is like now? Anyway, this place is beautiful-can we all pool our money and buy it?

He’ll probably be forced to sell for $30-35 million if he wants to unload it that bad, otherwise he’s going to be waiting forever with that ridiculous $90 million price tag.
