This one-of-a-kind Mediterranean inspired mansion is located at 18 Maymont Way in Spring, TX and is situated on 2/3 of an acre. It was built in 2005 and was designed around a 2,000 square foot central courtyard that features a swimming pool with raised spa, outdoor kitchen/BBQ area, lounging areas and access to multiple rooms in the house. There is also a wrap-around balcony on the 2nd floor that overlooks the courtyard. Inside there is approximately 9,476 square feet of living space with 5 bedrooms (including  master suite with indoor spa and custom his-and-hers closets), 8 bathrooms, 2-story living room with stone fireplace, stone floors throughout, dining room, gourmet kitchen with stone accent wall and beamed ceiling, adjoining family room, 2-story home office, elevator, wine cellar, game room, home theater, gym, 2nd smaller courtyard with covered dining area, 4-car garage and more. It is listed at $3,600,000.

What a neat idea having the home built around a courtyard! I’ve seen this done before, but this is executed perfectly. Also, having a swimming pool in the courtyard is so tranquil. The interior is overall pretty nice and feels cozy. That indoor spa in the master suite is to-die-for!!!!

Again with these f-ing filtered photos…I’m almost tempted to say that Instagram filters would work better than this crap.

I’m really not a fan of courtyard entries, especially ones with the pool in the front yard. The street facade looks incredibly awkward. Kitchen and family rooms are the best areas in the whole house IMO. Price seems reasonable.

I am normally a fan of hacienda-style houses with courtyards, but I don’t like this courtyard. It’s too stuffed full of the pool and ends up looking like a motel. I’d like it much better if there were the traditional terrace and fountain in the courtyard (which did serve a practical purpose in the original architectural style).

The interior is a missed opportunity. The styling should have been a lot more rustic to continue the hacienda theme, but it’s rather bland. There are some interesting details but they should have been taken further, such as hand-scraped floors, better tile in the kitchen, and ceiling beams that aren’t so smooth and polished.

I like the courtyard. Some say cramped, I say intimate. It is like a hotel, but a very very nice resort hotel. And that is part of the appeal to me. The worst part about Spring, Tx is that you get all of the airline traffic overhead. And usually it is me on my way to HOU. But no matter – seems to me a fair value given that the Houston area is hammering back to the top of the real estate market much faster than other areas, and the luxury segment is not slouching. This will get snapped up in the next few months, and then a finite scrub to taste as the above posters mention. Bam. $5M-$7M home in the next 60 months.

I usually like this style, especially in Texas, but here they just stuck it up without any real attention to detail. Looks very bland, especially the interior. They could use some of the craftsment that the other house in Albuquerque had. I think the courtyard looks crowded, and usually I am a huge fan of courtyards. Price seems really fair for this.

I like this house for their ability to pack so much into 9500 sq ft.
All this on 2/3 acre is impressive. I don’t care for the kitchen style but I love the master spa.

Not that it really matters, but this house is located in The Woodlands in the gated community of Carlton Woods. Not a bad looking house overall.

The lots are really close together. The columns in the masterbath are akward. The interior looks dark-it may be the filtered photos.

Very nice concept building around a large patio. Price is cheap for what it is.
