A very interesting home with a terrible kitchen, laughable living room, and a high price. The rest I like.

This house looks cheap. The exterior is nice and the office is ok and the kitchen is good quality all though I don’t really like the look of the kitchen but the rest looks cheap and tacky.

    It’s a faux tudor.

I like the exterior very much, but there’s NOTHING Tudor about the interior, and that bothers me. You gotta have at least SOME carry-over in style from outside to inside. Price is in typical atrociously-expensive Atherton territory.

I was so hoping for a properly detailed and designed Tudor Revival interior, but this couldn’t be further from that. The interior could be in any newly built house anywhere. The exterior is a nice attempt at Tudor Revival, but it falls short in the details department.

While not having a Tudor interior does affect my views on the house, overall aside from the kitchen its not too bad. I wouldn’t pay $17.8 million for it though. $6-7 million seems reasonable to me.

You’ll be disappointed if you think 6 or 7 mil will get you ANYTHING worth having in Atherton.

Well then it seems I won’t be buying in Atherton. Being in Houston, any home over $10 million has got to be pretty damned special to warrant a price tag that high. Even in prestigious Carlton Woods in The Woodlands, $10 million is considered very high.

It looks a lot better on bing. A lot larger. It is situated on a beautiful lot with a lot of privacy. It is a perfectly efficient house with no real character. Everything is very precisely and competently built and designed in this house. It is definitely the house of an engineer. The interior could really be transported to any house and achieve the same effect.
