Saw this a few days ago on the agents site, it’s my kinda place. The interior reminds me of the Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas.

Eh. I would have preferred a one-story layout. Also would have preferred a view. For the money and same style, I’d rather have these two:

or this, which is listed at $15.75 million by Hilton & Hyland:

Homes like those two make you wonder why anyone would choose this West Hollywood place…doesn’t make sense.

Those are both incredible, Daniel! How did you find them? Were you looking for soemthing like that, or did they just turn up on some real-estate sites that you normally visit?

Ha. Well, after I visited LA for Memorial Day Weekend, something clicked in my head and I fell in love with mid-century modern homes WITH a view (The view is a must). So I just checked the biggies in the area (Hilton & Hyland, Joyce Rey, Jade Mills, Mauricio Umansky) to see what they had. And I did a lot of Google Streetview too. Surprisingly, in LA it seems to be common to have the home’s address as the URL if its for sale. The rest Google did for me 🙂

Here’s a few others that I found particularly nice:

Oh Daniel, your ability to find quality homes never ceases to amaze me. 1479 Carla Ridge might be my new favorite LA home, it’s definitely up there!

Ha! I agree, it is spectacular. The *only* thing I can see wrong with it is that the view isn’t exactly unobstrcuted. The roofline of the neighboring house does stick up a little. Wouldn’t bother me though considering I’m tall. If you aren’t completely exhausted after looking at the links above, here are a few more:

The biggest problem I have with the home is the railings. They look like they belong on a 1960’s Miami motel.

The next problem, to be fair I’m not a modern fan, is the photographer. He focused on the wrong features or the wrong angles. The lanai is very nice and so is the fireplace. Rip off the hood ornament off the bar and focus on how it relates to the fish tank and how cool that natural wood table is and many people’s opinion may change. I liked the wine cellar pillar. I thought it was clever.

My favorite picture is of the tree out front. It could be described as an Imperial size bonsai. Change the railings and the whole house improves.

It has potential which many of the houses lately didn’t. I can’t speak to price.

I guess it was built on spec.(?) Clearly built as an entertainment venue. It’s nice enough…but it’ll look dated in 5-7 years. Went to the google street view…it’s in a sweet ‘hood that borders BH.Still I need better city/ocean views for that asking price.

Very eccentric. I would say this is more “futuristic” than modern or somewhere in between, I dunno, not for me!

It’s almost too open in there, it looks like something from the Sims game. Definitely not worth $15m, maybe $8m at most.

Hate the glass wine rack stuck in the midle of the room. The see through garages are just a mess.
