Less than a week ago we posted about a newly listed $95 million penthouse in NYC that made it the most expensive real estate listing in the city. Well that has just been surpassed. Steven Klar, the president of Long Island real estate developer The Klar Organization, has put his lavish Octagon shaped penthouse on the market for a whopping $100,000,000, making  it the most expensive home for sale in NYC and the 3rd most expensive home for sale in the country. The penthouse condominium is located in the CitySpire building on West 56th Street on the 72nd-75th floors. Klar purchased the apartment in 1993 for $4.5 million as “raw space.” It now spans three floors, and includes a separate guest apartment one floor below. He lived in the apartment for 17 years and his moving partly because he’s afraid his young son may fall off the terraces.

It features 8,000 square feet of interior living space and 3,000 square feet of wrap-around terrace space. The 72nd floor features a guest bedroom and wine cellar. The 73rd floor features an elevator landing, foyer, gallery, living room, dining room, eat-in gourmet kitchen and a media room. The 74th floor features 4 en-suite bedrooms, a laundry room and a conference room. The 75th floor is comprised entirely of the master suite.
