Yeah, Atlanta needs another one of these like London needs a traditional home with a C&C-wannabe interior.
This is inconceivably boring on every single level.
Very well said and considering that Evander Holyfield’s massive mega mess that is 24,000 sq ft larger than this just sold for about $7.5 million and he spent more than $20 million building that, I doubt this house will sell for it’s asking price.
Okay there needs to be a style for this type of house, those blocky homes with overly simple windows all over the place, except the front entrance. Stuck on round porticos and red roof.
I think I’m gonna call it Rehab style…
Anyways. Only thing Mediterranean about this home is the roof.
They tried to make to go to rehab, I said “No, no, no!”
This is exactly what I expected when I saw “30,000 Square Foot Mediterranean Atlanta.”
Think positive, think positive…OH! I know. The blades of the fan in photo 8 seem to whirl fast enough to decapitate someone. If I owned this, I’d put the architect through it….and then me!
This is also exactly what I was talking about with the crappy Mediterranean architecture. I am sick of this garbage popping up all over the place. Not only are the windows in the front god-awful, but this isn’t even a true Mediterranean style house. I see no Moorish elements in the structure.
If there is anything I’ve noticed, it is that tasteful mansions are rarely built above 20,000 square feet. Who are the “architects” that design these disasters? This house was not built for beauty, it was built for profit, at it will fail at its cause soon enough.
Its a bargain!
That’s an easy mistake to make when you’re only considering dollars per square foot. I learned a long time ago that that’s not the only factor in determining a “bargain”. I’d say it’s a rip-off considering this is nothing more than a glorified tract house
Sometimes I wonder what it takes to make people happy. As for the Holyfield’s house let me make a comparison, the stone mansion in Alpine NJ is worth X dollars. The same house in Newark NJ would be worth 1/4 as much, if that.
Exterior of the home lacks the sophistication necessary in a home that is 30K SqFt.BTW, where exactly is that 30,000 Sqft? I don’t see it anywhere. I have seen tract homes with this much curb appeal.Interior rooms like the bar and entertainment room are nice as is the backyard patio, which is very nice. This is the type of home that reeks of two different architects being involved and the first one being fired.
It’s just heinous. I can imagine the initial discussion with the builder and architect: “We want you to build the ugliest, most beige and bland house you can come up with. But, we want to make sure it impresses any guests we’ll have so it needs to have a lot of poorly proportioned, unnecessarily large cavernous spaces. Can you do that?”
“Yes, sir, we can. We do it all the time” *gestures around at most of the rest of Atlanta*
Typical cheap and tacky Atlanta mansion
Kenny covered this home when it was being built when I told him about it and sent him pics. This price is there as a “move it sale” price. The yearly taxes are around $70K and it is about location too, not just the home or the 3+ acres it sits on. I agree the interior is boring and attention to detail is poor as the owner went for one of these “big *ss houses” with poor interior investment. Had he done the interior like Lee Najjar did and this would be amazing
not feeling it
This home really is discusting. As an Atlanta native and someone who is in the building industry as a supplier and subcontractor for high end residential, I ashamed to admit what some of you guys are saying is true. There are very few mega mansions in Atlanta that are true gems. Most of north Georgias most creative and beautiful homes are between six and twelve thousand square feet and rarely go over a five to seven million dollar price tag. The problem is when a builder that typically build in the 800K-2mill. range gets a contract to build one of these monsters they have no clue what to do and usually use the same materials and subcontractors that do on lesser homes. It is obvious that these homeowners are willing to spend their money on square footage rather than quality and detail. Its sad but another fool with “new” money will come along and be awe struck by the sheer size of the home and feel like they are getting alot for their money and jump all over it.
After being on the market for over a year and a few price reductions of course.
All of you are a bunch of jealous house critics. When are you guys going to build your dream house, decorate it,post pictures then read the comments about it.NOT!!!Just hiding behind you computer screen hating.Have a nice day.
The pool looks so small and has no sun exposure.
This home was owned by one of the Bank of Americas officers. No wonder he’s selling it. BOA is getting ready to collapse.
Nice.. who’s gonna pay taxes on this $9 mil house?
