It’s a beautifully done property. Not overtly grand, tasteful, and livable.

Why does Finton’s site say only 8,000 sq ft?

    • Chance

I was wondering that also. When I look at the pics and the scale, I definitely see closer to 8,000 sq.ft than 22,000 sq.ft

Nice weisser… I think you’ve hit a low point. I don’t know about you guys but I will not be paying any more attention to weisser. Anyone who comments on his stuff should be considered a troll just like weisser. He’s just looking for attention like all the other internet trolls.

Kenny, please translate the Russian filth above and decide if you want this trash on your site. Thanks.

My seedy side is really curious what the comment was! The respectable side of me (which is, admittedly, much smaller) says I shouldn’t care.

Well the translation from Russian into English involved a few uses of the the F word, whore, idiot, etc etc

Lol. Yeah I dunno I’ve seen much much worse on the internet before and the translation obviously didn’t 100% come across but you could tell what he was getting at if you read between the lines. His comment just didn’t have any redeeming qualities whatsoever and I don’t think Kenny needs to put up with that crap just yet. Part of the reason I come to this site is because the comments are generally decent in nature and everyone seems to get along.

Apparently weisser was having a bad day that day. I don’t remember what house he commented on but I think he was sorry. Weisser is very capable of intelligent comments.

(I’m not sure what’s wrong with this comment system but this was in response to Grrrowler)

I think it is a pretty home. Funny though – exterior looks like a scaled down version of Eddie Murphy’s house while the interior reminds me a lot of the Gores residence in Beverly Park.

Nice house. It’s tasteful, stylish, and still feels like a home. Like Lime says, the back is better looking than the front, but overall it’s nice. I really pleased to see a classically styled and proportioned house without a stodgy, dusty-looking, grandma-esque interior, like so often happens. I love the art deco influences, and the details are beautiful. I know it’s not possible, but this is the type of house I’m hoping to see every time I come to the blog. This is my idea of how a multi-million dollar house should be.

    Absolutely breathtaking!
Great to see a classic Italian design win Robb Report’s Home of the Year. (Thank God it’s not ANOTHER Modern/Contemporary design.)
The description of the Master bedroom sounds lovely.
Kenny, some aerial shots of the home would be great.

Landry is rocking the Rob Reports Ultimate Home… I remember the last 3 years being his… no idea who was before that so maybe he’s on an even longer roll.

This house is gorgeous. Perfect home.

Yea Landry designed the Ultimate Home in 2009, 2011 and 2012. In 2010 it was Guy Dreier’s design in Palm Desert.

Nicely done! When I hear art deco I sort of cringe, but they did it well. Looks livable and private. I like the pool house too and how it contrasts with the style of the main house. Tasteful but opulent at the same time but almost borders on a fancy contemporary hotel. I’m not a fan of Hans Hoffman but glad to see they collect fine art. The outside lime stone facade is interesting and kind of unique.

I think I’ll like this house more as time goes by. Even now, each time I run through the pics it gets better and better. Some of the more risky and more modern/funky elements throw me off a bit. Not that they’re necessarily bad, I’m just not into it. There are many areas that remind me of a hotel or a casino – but the appointments are still tasteful and full of class. The overall package is very appealing.

I really like the foyer and the enclosed courtyard. And I’m totally in love with the guest pavillion/pool house!! What a fantastic set up! I honestly think I would directly copy it for my fantasy mansion.

Not a fan of the exterior, but everything else is ridiculous in a very good way. I love everything about the interior, very stylish but livable at the same time.

I don’t like this house at all, it is way too contemporary and the exterior is too nice compared to the interior, the exterior is completely limestone which would make me expect an interior on the level of Fleur Dy Lys or something, but it just looks like a typical contemporary, also I don’t really like contemporary homes in Bel Air, Holmby Hills, Beverly Park or Beverly Hills, I prefer traditional homes in this area, I think contemporary is ok for maybe an ocean front home like in Malibu or something but in Beverly Hills area I prefer traditional or classical, also I dont like the back of the house, it looks like normal limestone in front but looks like a complete different texture in the back, the back just looks like a bunch of rocks, also I dont get why Kenny says it is 22,000 square feet and the Finton Construction website says it is only 8,000 square feet and also I hate the movie theater, it looks like someone from the 70’s trip’n on LSD or something

I like Eddie Murphy’s house except I don’t like all of the interior, its too contemporary for me, but it is way better than this house
