Is this a home, or some type of religious retreat? The living room looks like a multipurpose room in a church annex. The rest of the rooms are equally characterless. The kitchen looks like it was lifted directly out of the 1940s. Beyond the fact there it’s chock-full of religious iconography, I just plain don’t like it.

Sometimes houses are put up for sale to impress the owners friends and neighbors. I mean to say ‘look at Bob and Mary, they live in a $15,000,000.00 house.’ I believe this is such a case. On the other hand, they could both be crazy?

I get what you mean about being a large “retreat” or even small hotel feeling house. It does seem large and rambling, but it’s probably a multi-generational family compound. Possibly a second home. I actually like the vintage feel kitchen and unusual details. Floorplans are on the website as well…

I want to see those too!

Actually, some of the homes that are featured here may start out that way, but they get professionally dressed/made-over to appeal to the widest range of buyers before they go on market. In other words, bo-o-o-ring.

A very eclectic home. Can’t say I like a single room or piece of furniture in the whole thing.

The carpets are really beautiful. That is the most uncomfortable kitchen table and chairs/bench I have ever seen!

The entry arch is an interesting concept, but otherwise I’m not interested at all. You guys got all the main point spot on.

15M seems excessively high but I think the place is a keeper. It has the look of a renovated mission or old Texas ranch and that in and of itself makes this home unique among the countless other “pseudo” french manors, tudors or colonials that inhabit this blog. The wood beamed ceilings and white washed walls are perfectly in character with such a homestead and the details throughout are finely done from the stair railings to the tiled floors and masonry arches and domes. A home filled with originality and loads of personality. I would like it at under 10M even better
