I really hope these pictures are temporary. Nothing much to love here. The pool looks nice and huge, but the rest of the home looks dark and creepy.

The house isn’t terrible, but it’s also not wonderful. The front facade is better than many others we see here, and some mature landscaping would do wonders. The rear of the house is too bulky and massive, and more stone elements should have been carried onto the back to break it up.

If the interior has been staged to list the house, the company/person that did it should be run out of the industry. It’s really a mess and the house would have looked better with nothing at all in it. Even with a better interior, the bones are best described as formulaic; it doesn’t feel the least bit special or unique.

Uhm, it has some nice things about it but overall it’s just okay.

The glass surround shower is awful. The front landscaping and front steps are even worse. Nice pool. The neighborhood screams ‘subdivision!

Not bad. The exterior uses some nice colors and materials up front. If these were black/white photos, I think some of us might see some hints of McMansion – or “subdivision” like lambskin pointed out. The rear of the house is terrible. Other than the tall chimney it reminds me of an apartment complex or a hotel – especially in picture #11. As always, I like the garage area with the porte-cochere. I also really like the great room with the tall windows and the intimate space. I’d probably change out some of the dark wood for something more inviting and warm.

The rest of the interior is pretty basic and forgettable. Is it terrible? No not really. Like Grrrowler said, the staging/furnishings are pretty bad. Some better landscaping couldn’t hurt but I’ve seen far worse. Overall, it’s a decent home ready for some new owners with new ideas.

the others have summed it up nicely–but i do think the way they tried to take advantage of an unusual sloping lot is interesting.

i agree with the others–we’ve seen worse!

I grew up in and currently live about 20 minutes from Leesburg. The attraction for many (my parents included) is that you’re within an hour’s commute to D.C. but at the same time you’ve got the very pretty rolling hills and farmland of Loudoun County. Creighton Farms is one of the newest “it” communities in the Northern VA area; the scenery is beautiful, there are some decently sized lots, and it’s in a gated Nicklaus-designed golf community managed by Ritz.

Unfortunately, the home is completely formulaic. The facade is not bad at all for a semi-custom home that’s built from a ready-made plan, but the layout is pretty derivative and it also means there’ll be several homes in the neighborhood that look very similar to yours, differences in specific materials aside. The interior could use some personalized details and better decorating…once that’s done you’ll have a perfectly livable home in a pretty community, nothing more and nothing less. As far as this specific community goes, I’d be more interested in the custom creations being offered by other builders.

The price seems heavy by 1 or 1.5 million.
