Russian steel magnate Alexander Abramov (who is worth around $7.5 billion) paid $15.9 million for the land at Helena Bay, a hidden gem in a remote area north of Whangarei, Northland, New Zealand.  The mega mansion he is constructing is expected to cost around $40 million to build, which would make it the most expensive home in New Zealand. The $35 million Chrisco mansion in Coatesville currently holds that title. It is expected to be around a whopping 38,000 square feet in size once completed.
