(Exterior pics via Legacy Stoneworks)

We’ve done a post on this home before and highlighted its AMAZING subterranean garage, however we wanted to post it again along with new pics. This lavish stone mansion is located at the end of Tulip Tree Lane in the Rio Vista section of Alpine, NJ. It was designed by architect James Paragano. The exterior stonework was done by the amazing Legacy Stoneworks team.

More info:

This historical 12,000 square foot English Manor home is an impeccably detailed “Old World” structure that epitomizes the dichotomy between the past, present and future. It is built of the finest quality materials commensurate with the vernacular of Architecture and has the latest modern facilities, home automation and control systems. The design concept of the project includes a primary vehicular procession through the home beginning with the porte cochere into a grand motor court with garage storage for 5 automobiles including one special showcase building. The drive continues down a private cylindrical ramp to a secret parking structure hidden below ground where a motorized turntable rotates exotic cars for easy parking and display. The procession is an evolving architectural experience that begins with a 600 foot long driveway and culminates in an elaborate lower level complex complete with a large auto showroom; exercise and spa area; recreation and bar area; as well as an indoor basketball court. The combined upper and lower garage space encompasses room for over 25 automobiles.

I hate homes with the terrace level exposed.

But daaaammnnn they got an F50, Enzo, Carrera GT, and that Maserati thang!

And I still like the cars better than the home. A silver F50, now that’s rare.

Only if this home was actually in the woods and had privacy. It looks like the neighbors from both sides can see right in haha.

I live in the neighborhood and I can attest that despite the way it looks from the aerial photos, this house is utterly and completely private. I literally had no idea what this house looked like until I saw these pictures because you can’t see it at all from any of the surrounding areas due to a difference in elevation.

Just his car collection is worth more than most luxury homes

The home actually isn’t too bad-looking, I like it quite a bit.

I can completely dismiss the owner’s car collection though. Aside from the silver F50 and Maserati MC12, the cars this guy owns are basically the complete set of “look at me, I’m fucking rich” cars. These kind of people buy them because they can and don’t really give a thought to or appreciate what makes them good (or bad) cars in the first place. It’s just a show.

Now if they had JUST Lamborghinis or JUST Ferraris, it might be different.

Oh Kenny… You just made my day. I fall for this house everytime I see it. It’s easily in my Top 5. I would kill for some interior pics. Legacy Stoneworks did the nearby famous Stone Mansion as well so it’s no wonder that this is equally amazing! Unlike the Stone Mansion, I like the use of wood. It doesn’t stand out and it perfectly serves to accent the fantastic stonework.

That garage… it’s so unique, stylish, and actually somewhat practical! It’s absolutely beautiful. My only complaint is that the curved drive down looks like a freeway cloverleaf. And I really don’t even mind it that much – I’m sure it’s a blast flying down that thing in a Ferrari! I just wish there was a more elegant solution that fit in with the surroundings a little better. The “special showcase” garage is completely useless to me and only serves this guy’s ego. Also, I’m not thrilled with the entrance gate. I don’t think it introduces the right emotions to the guest as they arrive. Maybe it matches the interior, but it looks slightly odd with the exterior. A more traditional solid gate similar to the front door would have been nice.

Anyway, I just love this house. You really can’t do much better. For me, it’s the quintessential luxury mansion. If I won the lottery, you can bet this would serve as some inspiration. I would probably tone it down just a smidge as it is too egotistical (like NOVA Ben said) especially with the typical “rich guy” cars. I would also introduce a little more wood or a different color stone to break up the mostly stone exterior. Very minor complaints, really. Dammit Kenny I’m not going to get any work done if I’m staring at this house all day! haha

I agree with NOVA Ben on the cars – a great car collection should have one of those “look at me” cars, not a dozen.

That said… I know it is a huge cliche but I LOVE these stone estate homes, with their motor courts and port cocheres. If the interior is mostly parquet floors and wood paneled walls, I’m in love.

I love the stone homes as well, with the wood-paneled walls hopefully, however I am not much for parquet floors.

I can only tell you that I know the owner and the house is ever nicer in person. the interior is special, all wood, very old school. maybe I will ask him to comment on the cars as ego is so not part of his game. Nice job Kenny.
