This stone and shingle estate is located at 12 Claridge Drive in Weston, MA. It boasts 26,013 square feet of living space with 6 bedrooms, 9 full and 3 half bathrooms, gym, home theater, billiards room, wine cellar, 4-car garage, stone terraces, indoor swimming pool/spa complex and much more. It is listed at $11,700,000. Sorry, but this house does NOT look like it’s 26,000 square feet to me. What do you guys think?

    Kenny,
This is a very confused design but I believe it could be the stated square footage. As you can see in the aerial views, this is basically three structures, which I would describe as haphazardly jammed together. That would mean that each of the three sections would have to average less than 9000 square feet, which is believable. Not pretty, but believable.

Inside and out, the whole thing is an angular mess. This is probably one my least favorite shingle style homes in recent memory. The listing says it was built in 2000 and boy does it look the part!. I don’t think they have updated a single thing since then – not even a chair or a painting. I like the stone veranda and the landscaping/grounds but that’s really about it.

How do you clean the chandliers over the pool?! This place is awful.

That staircase scares me. The living room looks like it belongs on some yacht that was last remodeled in 1983. Not digging this at all.

Beyond the design and decorative flaws, the interior and exterior have nothing to do with each other. Looking at one without knowledge of the other, I’d never guess they were the same house. Together or separate, I don’t like either the interior or the exterior.

Ouch! I think that’s probably the worst insult someone could put on a house design. Inside and out, it’s terrible and even then they don’t match each other. All around it’s a complete fail! lol.

I would have guessed 1990, not 2000 for the build date….it’s not dating well at all. The grounds are pretty enough, but the home is definitely a fail.

Yeah not a fan of this house, not my style at all..but if the basement is under the whole house, then it for sure is the stated square feet. Having been in several 20,000+sq ft. homes, I can see it being that large.
