    Without reading the title i never would have known these were two different homes. I think i like the first one more, its so pretty, although it does slightly remind me of a fancy restaurant? not too sure its worth $10 million though

    ugly and uglier…I have yet to see a large mansion or estate that has taken my architectural breath away come out of Arizona. I’d prefer an adobe or contemporary house if I lived in AZ.

    The second one has a very pleasing mix of materials on the exterior. If you look at the listings, you see that the small, high windows add a bit of whimsy to the interior, and the kitchen is far more refined than the one in the first home, which is awkwardly proportioned and choppy.

    I haven’t seen anything selling for those prices in the last year. $1,000+ a foot, they will still be sitting empty 2 years from now.

    @Jason

    everyone who does not live in Arizona thinks that the adobe style is cool, if you have ever visited you might change your opinion. Adobe in Arizona especially to us architects has become “Hacky” plus these are luxury home builders who have set a record here a few years ago. case in point..do you want an outdated tacky style that is dime a dozen or something more elegant?
