Here are more pictures of the massive 30,000+ (38,000 rumored) square foot gated mega mansion being built at the intersection of River and Norton Roads in Potomac, MD. It has been under construction for close to two years now. As you can see, it boasts two 5-car garages on either end and it is rumored that there is also going to be a 5,000 square foot guest house on the property as well. Once completed, it will be the largest home in Montgomery County. If anybody has any more info or pics on this estate, please share!

My my my. This actually looks very promising. The limestone facade looks gorgeous. They will have to be careful with the landscaping though. Too little and it will look like a bank. I hope they include a formal garden here and there.

It does look promising from the outside. The proportions are good, and the limestone work looks nice. However, the size is just ludicrous.

wow, this is very unlike Potomac, this is more Beverly Hills! The rear of the house looks like one of the stucco mansions in Bridle Path. Would love to see some completed pics when this is finished!

This is the home of Frank Islam, a Indian immigrant and who built a huge Washington DC information technology firm called QSS Group . Islam recently sold the company to Ross Perot Systems for $250 million. I’m sure the gardens are going to be incredible….his wife Debbie is known to have a passion for gardens . Although not yet seen in the pics above, plans call for a replica of Claude Monet’s ‘Water Lilly’ garden with large koi flown in from Japan . It has been ordered with a complex automatic feeder system and a motion activated water jet system to scare away the blue herons who may want a fish snack .
Can’t wait to see the finished product !

This is starting to look like a really nice place.

One concern is the apparent lack of a back yard. You would be looking out at a small patch of lawn and trees.

This could be alright…at first I cringed when I saw “30,000 sf” and “Potomac”, because it sounded a lot like something Niroo would build, and I find a lot of their work to be on the obnoxious and gaudy side. This still has the chance of going either way, so I hope that it’s done tastefully, and if Randy’s info is accurate, it sounds like the grounds will be impressive as well.

This home is beautiful! My company fabricated and installed two large custom marble rotunda & all of the granite and marble counter tops throughout the entire home. The custom chandeliers are one of my favorite parts of the home…beside the marble & granite of course!
