For me, Victorians are equal parts charming and creepy. I can’t say I’d want to live in one, but I think I appreciate #3 the most, simply for its pure ornamentation and ostentation…I mean, look at it, the front of that home is practically an event.
I do like #1 & 4 in their own way, although #1 seems a touch too watered down and #4 brings to mind Poe too readily. I can’t bring myself to like #2, and it’s not just because it’s in Oz. I’d need more/better pics to make a judgment on that one.
I agree with NOVA Ben regarding Victorians. Just an inherent creepiness to them. One is nice but I don’t like the windowless portion on the left and the odd circular cutaway on the second floor. Two would be perfect for a haunted house tour. Three looks very Russian but is also my favorite. I think I would paint it a different color as the mocha makes it looks unnecessarily gloomy. Four looks like The Addams Family home the day it was completed.
I would say that I like the MOTD better than any of these four. But, if it’s down to these four then I would have to vote for #4. It’s not a house I’d want to live in, but to me it’s my vision of of a Victoria. #2 isn’t far behind, and I guess it comes down to the fact that I’m a sucker for a tower on a house. #3 doesn’t do much for me, and #1 is Victoria-Inspired.
#3
MERRY CHRISTMAS !!!!!
Love #1. Modern and Victorian. # 2 is kinda scary. #3 is over the top. #4 is simply nice looking. #3 for the win.
Merry Christmas everyone. None of the above.
Merry Christmas everyone.
#4 because it is the creepiest one and truest Victorian there is.
#4 is my favorite design but I would probably never live there except maybe has a secondary/vacation home.
#1 is my overall favorite and I could totally see myself living in a similar house, although this particular one is a tad boring/cliche.
#2 is a little too oddly proportioned. I’m not fond of that style of Victorian. I see that it’s in Australia, but it could fit right into the French Quarter.
#3 is nice but it’s ornate and frilly in all the wrong places.
