WOW! This is John Smoltz’s home. I can’t believe he is selling it already. It is an amazing estate. He hasn’t been in it very long. His previous home was great as well. I’m not sure of what is next for him. Retirement must not pay as well.

Nice looking house with lots of land and with a pool, tennis court, baseball and football fields you would always have friends stopping by for some fun. Here is a link to the virtual tour with a lot of pictures.

Not a bad house. It’s not my style, but it looks like a comfortable home. The decor would have to change somewhat if it were mine, but the bones look decent. I do appreciate that it’s grand without being over the top.

The house isn’t bad but didn’t really excite me too much…there’s nothing I particularly dislike, but it’s a bit predictable.

Of course, half the story with this listing is all the land and amenities, and they’re certainly impressive. On the other hand, though, what buyer is going to actually maintain (let alone USE) a baseball diamond AND football field? The pond is picturesque, and putting greens seems to be a dime a dozen on any property of more than a couple acres, but it’s all a bit much put together. I dunno…

On the upside, the price seems pretty reasonable.

The Architecture and layout reminds you of classic southern mansions of old, and the grounds are a childs dream. Great property. This home has great bones.

My brother and I used to walk through that house when it was being built. It wasn’t built by Smoltz. Someone else was building it and stopped half way though for some reason.

There is separate his and her closet/dressing room and we found a bill for $50,000 for the woodwork in them.

At this time Smoltz lived in St Ives CC next to a giant house that was so big, Smoltz sued the guy who was building it claiming the house blocked the sun to his pool. Sullivan was the guy’s name, it was off the 16th green at St Ives CC, about 10 houses down from the giant St Ives home put up a few weeks back at HOTR. That home was off #3 fairway.

He has been in this house for about 8 years.
